Is there any reason to why there are so many topics that aren't free to list as an auction for store owners. I sell a lot of sheet music and it's not always easy to pick a starting price Sometimes listing as an auction can make sure you're not losing out by choosing a price. It allows for buyers to bid more than you started with. I pay 344.88 for my store (any reason living in Quebec is more than anywhere else in North America? so I can't understand why they choose what categories we can list on auction. I can list them for free in the Paper Collectibles but not the sheet music category.

I have a question for anyone that sells postcards or patches etc, the kind of item that needs a simple address label. (not a shipping label) Is there any place to go to just copy and paste the address on an avery address label sheet. I used to use the paypal site but they changed their page and it does't work any more,
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Hello Tyler. I just wondered if there is a way to tell if an item I sold was bought by going to Google search or bought directly on eBay? Would be interesting to see now that we will be using GTC.
Thanks!

I had a US buyer purchase 3 craft books tonight and ask for a combined shipping invoice. When I went to do the invoice, I saw that $2.08 state tax had been added to the total. I have never seen this before.
I am very confused that this came up on a combined shipping invoice. Does this only apply in this situation. What happens when a buyer purchases one item and the seller has the shipping set, will they also be required to pay state tax?
This is really going to increase the shipping cost for US buyers. I am wondering if this just applies to certain states or all of them.

Hi @angelshavenclothingboutique - great question! It should be this month, but I don't have anything more specific than that at the moment. I've done some prodding and am waiting to hear back on any extra details about when and I'll let you know!

Hi @bunbar - insertion fee credits for auctions are for categories that we've seen do very well with that selling format. If you are seeing a large amount of success with auctions in the Sheet Music category let me know and I'm happy to get that to the stores team for consideration in the future!

Hi @bunbar - this is a great question that I think would get more eyes on it as a post in the 'Seller Central' board. Consider reposting it there if you don't see anyone chime in here. 🙂

Your customer is in a state which has authorized (demanded) that eBay charge their residents a state sales tax.
You have nothing to do with it and it is not your responsibility.
Any resident of that state will be paying the state sales tax on any internet purchase from now on. So you are not working at a disadvantage.
Just as we often tell posters complaining about Canadian duty and sales taxes to contact their MP, I would suggest that complaints from such American customers be redirected to their state's Governor. (If you want to add the correct name and email address, it's probably online.) (But might come across as a little snotty.)

Hi @msmaggie060 - oooh this is a good question. I've had to do some digging, and I still don't quite have an absolute answer for you.
Seller Hub is able to tell you how much of your traffic is coming from within eBay vs outside of eBay (link here). However, I'm not aware of a way to break that down by item.
If you opened your store subscription on eBay.com, and it's at least a Basic store, you should have access to a free Terapeak subscription. That lets you run some really in depth reports and provide a lot of really valuable information. However, I can't determine if that will tell you the traffic source for an individual item either. I still think it's a worthwhile tool to have as it will let you analyze your traffic data (at least for your eBay sales), and hey, a 'free' perk is always nice.

I’ve never used Avery labels but have you tried copying and pasting from the view records page?

Hi @triber! No need to worry - this sounds like an eBay-collected sales tax. If your buyer is located in one of these US states, we charged, collected and remitted the tax amount on behalf of the buyer. There is not an opt-out, and it is charged to all* buyers who have shipping locations within those states. This would apply even if you were combining an invoice.
If your buyer was NOT located in one of those states will you please send me a private message with the details so I can have a look into it? Thanks!
*There are some exceptions, and buyers are able to provide that information to us so we won't charge tax to them in the future. However it is not your responsibility to manage that for them. 🙂

Hello Tyler,
Re: Your response to Miss Maggies post. It appears that link brings up dot com info. Is the same info available on dot ca. When I checked all fields were blank with no way to update.

Hi @lotzofuniquegoodies! I gave a .com link as I think it's the most appropriate one for msmaggie.
For traffic in Seller Hub on .ca the best link is here. 🙂
A free Terapeak subscription is only available for members who opened a store on .com.

Hi @angelshavenclothingboutique - I wanted to update you on this. I heard back that it's still in the works, but that you should keep an eye out for it to hit Seller Hub in the near future!
