Re: August 12 2020 Weekly Session

Hi Tyler,

Weekly follow up on the handling time issue I originally reported here a few weeks back. I've had 21 erroneous late shipping defects in the last month due to this. I've been able to get most removed via submitting appeals via the Seller Help section but 3 out of 4 the most recent appeals have been incorrectly denied due to an obvious error by whomever reviewed them.

What is the best avenue to get these defects removed when is an obvious error by the team handling those defect appeals? It would also seem like a good idea to get those staff made aware of the this bug so they can review the appeals appropriately as they appear to be operating on autopilot which makes for a pretty poor seller experience. Happy to pass along the transaction ids and item numbers if that helps.

Thanks!

Re: August 12 2020 Weekly Session

Managed Payments is going live for me in a matter of days, so I'm trying to figure out how to navigate the situation of paying for shipping labels with Shippo since all the funds from sales will be deposited into a bank account versus PayPal. Any suggestions on how to make this transition as seamless as possible? It's something I'm concerned about, especially since it seems that eBay doesn't have a solution ready for paying for labels directly.

i have  not  yet  registered  with  MP    but  i am  wondering  about  buyer  disputes  !

if  a  buyer  files a  dispute  on a  purchase  on  ebay  ,  how  does  ebay  handle  the  funds  in  the  linked  bank account ?   do  they  withdraw  the  money  right  away  and  refund  a  buyer  before  the  dispute  is  closed  or  do  they  hold  it  in  limbo  until the  dispute  is  closed  ?

or  is  there  some  other  method  ?

also  now  on  ebay  sales  a  buyer  has  30  days  to  file  a  dispute  ,  does  this  stay  the  same  under   MP SALES AND  PAYMENTS  ?

Re: August 12 2020 Weekly Session

How many times do I have to give my bank information to Managed Payments before they will accept those really are my banks?

It's been at least three times and I'm still being asked to confirm my information daily.

I say it's spinach and I say to hell with it.

Hi @hlmacdon - thanks for your patience on this. Yes, would you please send me those details so I can look into getting this escalated further?

Hi @nostalgicaftertaste - there is not an on-platform option for labels at this point in time. Until that actually rolls out, it's a bit of a mixed bag of options you're left with. I think it comes down to what you're more comfortable with (or disturbed by the least).

You could consider using an alternate payment method with Shippo (like a credit or debit card). On some of their pages I see that you can use ACH direct billing, which may be useful if you have set up a separate account for receiving payouts through managed payment and want to localize your ins and outs for bookkeeping.

Personally I like my rewards card, so I'd go the credit card route: I get points for the labels and no interest if I pay it off within the billing cycle. That gives more than enough time for the payout to hit my bank and for me to get it paid off. However, it's definitely a personal choice at this point.

Thanks @femmefan1946!  Hi @ambros_51 Disclaimers first:

As someone who is not an expert on managed payments I may not be able to address your question in its entirety. If you have been notified to register for managed payments you are able to request a call back from a payments-trained teammate by accessing any of the Help Pages related to payments and using the 'Have us call you' feature at the bottom of the page.

The information provided is accurate as of today's date (12 August 2020) but may become outdated in the future. If you are reading this at a later date please consider checking the Help Pages or request a call back from a managed payments teammate who can provide the most up to date information.

Detailed information about disputes and managed payments here.

When a dispute is opened a hold for the amount of the purchase would be placed on your funds available for payout. If the dispute is resolved and you are asked to make a refund to the buyer the amount would be initially deducted from your pending payouts.

If you did not have enough funds in the Available for payout, or Pending Funds sections to cover the full amount of a refund, we would charge your payout bank account or automatic payment method, whichever you select, to cover the remaining amount.

As to the total amount of time a buyer has to dispute a purchase, I cannot speak definitively to that and would need you to request a contact from a managed payments-trained teammate. Thanks!

Hi @femmefan1946 - I'm sorry that you've been jumping through hoops only to be asked to leap once more.

You're not alone, I've seen many folks in similar situations. I'm not able to help with this part of the process, so the only thing I can do is recommend you request a callback from a payments teammate on this so they can help.
