Hi Tyler,
In August you asked for some suggestions on way to improve the boards. I’ll post the link at the end of this message. I had suggested that it would be easier to find posts and send messages here if we had the same functionality that the US board has always had in this format. For example, if you look at my profile page on .com there is a link to send me a message and a link yo view all of my posts. You could also follow or ignore me from that page. None of those options are on a .ca profile page. Is it possible to have these functions added here?

I know this is out of scope of the topics that have been noted as being handled, but given the rather serious nature of this possible threat, I felt it would be something that could be responded to by the eBay team.
I have created a post in the Seller Central board, however I would like to bring the subject here if possible.
The news post here on the eBay Canada Community regarding the new USCMA changes in Canadian de minimis also had an alarming ending paragraph stating that, as per the text of the agreement, the U.S. has the option to lower their de minimis under the agreement.
The actual text of section 7.8 of the USMCA, which is a section regarding express shipments, states the U.S. de minimis at being $800 USD. However there exists a notwithstanding footnote which basically states that any Party in the agreement can set their de minimis to a value equal to or lower than the other Party's domestic policy de minimis value. In essence, if they so wish, the U.S. can set their de minimis for express shipments arriving from Canada to a value equal to the Canadian de minimis, or lower.
My first question is - what constitutes an express shipment? I have not been able to find any definition within the USMCA, and when Canadian officials were asked this question, the response was services such as FedEx, UPS, etc. However, perhaps this refers to a carrier that offers Express delivery - IE air transport from the point of origin? Or, perhaps, this refers to a customs clearance practice? WTO guidelines seem to define 'express shipments' as those provided by a courier service, or any service outside of a government managed postal service. Is this the definition being used here?
My second question is - perhaps this footnote in the agreement allows Canada and Mexico to have lower de minimis values than the U.S. and the language is such to make it have a sense of balance, given the huge discrepancy in the values as stated in the agreement?
My third question is - given the current protectionist political climate, will the U.S. consider this as a '**bleep** for tat' measure and impose such a low fee as a financial gain? This would be quite a heavy lift and damaging to the Canadian e-commerce industry, with more brokers, fees, etc that would disrupt the spirit of opening up commerce across the border.

Store credit in lieu of (ever shrinking) shipping supplies?
They simply do not have anything I need however I would certainly entertain accepting a quarterly store credit of $100 instead of $210 shipping supply credit.

Hi Tyler,
Hope all is well.
I noticed a huge drop off in sales from August compared to September. Around 50% to be exact. I realize market changes, school starting etc. as having some effect however it literally was like the lights were turned off. I've never experienced anything close to this in the past. I noticed on ebay.com boards that there were similar sellers who also experienced the same drop off in a variety of different selling categories.
The same can be said for watchers. I was consistently averaging 3 pages of watchers and now I'm down to half a page? If this was gradual than I could attribute to products, changing markets etc. but the drop off was so dramatic I can't help but ask if ebay has done something behind the scenes that is effecting myself or if there is a bug that they are currently working on.
I'm updating my listings constantly with new photos, prices, but I have a lot so it is taking some time while at the same time continuing to list new inventory. I've complied with the 30 day returns. I've looked at the stats and I see drops in listing impressions/page views but what I can'f figure out is why the drop was so dramatic. Again August was awesome and September drop does not make sense even factoring all the regular business factors.
Any insight would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi @pjcdn2005 - thanks for the reminder on this, it had slipped my mind! I will work on it this week and keep you updated. If it's a simple settings issue I should be able to get it sorted quickly. If it's something that is more complicated I'll probably have to send up the Happy Pigeon signal and have her work on it for us. 🙂

Hi @cottagewoman - I'm afraid I won't be able to offer interpretation of the agreement or speculate on what could happen because of it, so I won't be able to address questions two and three. I have sent question one on for any further clarification and will update you as I hear back. I'm not sure that we have more specifics to offer at the moment, as this is still very new and logistics haven't been explored yet, but I'll keep you posted!

Hi @snoopwiz - This is still a good idea, and a drum that I'm beating too. It's not something I see on the horizon, but I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Hi @edubb101 - slowing sales is always really difficult to speak to from my end, as there are so many factors that could be at play. While impressions and listing page views can fluctuate, if there is a drastic decline in both numbers month over month that could be an indication that your items are not being searched for.
If you notice a steep decline in impressions, but your page views remain stable that is usually an indication that your items' titles probably need some work, as the keywords aren't bringing things up in search but when members find them they want more info and click on your listings.
Conversely, impressions staying the same but page views declining significantly would indicate that something about your listing isn't desirable as buyers search: this usually calls for more market research as that could be anything from photos, to price, to market saturation, etc. Take a look at what your fellow sellers are doing in the category and how you can remain competitive with them.
As back-to-school shopping winds down and the lull before holiday shopping begins it can be difficult for collectibles and other 'less essential' categories. This is a good time to fine tune your listings for holiday readiness, and to consider prepping listings for upload as we get closer to the Holidays. Marketing and social media campaigns may help - with tools like subscriber emails and markdown manager available to you from an eBay perspective.
Watcher numbers can also fluctuate, and aren't something I have much insight into as far as overall indicators of a listing's likelihood to sell.
Best of luck moving forward!
