Anybody shipping to Australia light or small packet?

Good Morning,  last year I had over 5 packages over November and December (different dates, different PO's) sent to Australia that were taking about 2 months to get there.  They all arrived but all late.

Australia was having some serious problem with their mail, so I blocked Australia.

Has anyone been sending light packet or small packet there and how have the delivery times been?  Parcels with tracking won't help me, just want to know about light and small packet.

Thanks

I've had no problems with shipping to Australia and I've used surface shipping occasionally as well.

Australia has a very high tax free import limit so that's rarely an issue.  However, I've found that it's prudent to vet items shipped to Australia more carefully than most.

They are very careful about what they allow to enter and in my experience open packages for inspection on a regular basis.

I once shipped an antique doll to Australia which had very old feathers (and thus dander free) as part of her costume and they removed the feathers before allowing her enter the country.

Always happy to ship there.

I look at it a bit differently, the money only plays part of it.  I sell CD's so they are not a big ticket item, not a lot of fraud on behalf of the buyers, especially not Australia.  On a lost parcel, I would loose the cost of the item plus the $10.10 to ship, so say $15 - $20 on each item.

What I take into consideration is the stress of items not arriving and the time involved on my part.  For every one that was delayed I would say I spent about 1/2 to hour on each one from start to finish and the stress of it all.  Usually there are about 3 emails going back and forth on each one, I hate  the added stress.  I'm Old and I like things to run smoothly.Smiley LOL
