Can anyone explain this feedback?

I just received multiple feedbacks from a buyer, and they are just a bunch of numbers, I have no idea what they mean. I checked the other feedbacks they have left and there is nothing like that.

It might take some detective work but you could take a movie device keyboard and transpose the numbers to their alphabetic equivalent. I find myself typing in numerals sometimes because the keyboard has switched by accident.

More likely a child got ahold of their iPhone and left feedback after opening the ebay app; be glad it's not something worse that inserted itself via accidental copy and paste.

Most people feel leaving feedback is redundant.

Take it as a compliment and move on....

Thanks, I am really not bothered, just surprised, at least it was positive. I am not pushing for feedback, I have plenty, I was not expecting a bunch of numbers, I am sure it was a mistake like you said.

A bit of detective work as a lot of assumption:

When leaving feedback for multiple transactions, many users will use good old reliable "copy and paste" (Control C, Control V).  It is easy and foolproof - most of the time.

However, it is quite possible that the buyer in this instance copied (using Control V) something else (not having used Control C).  It appears to be a tracking number of some sort (although there are too many digits for CP).

It is all positive, no harm done... enjoy and move on.

Thanks Pierre, I miss seeing you as often on this board. I hope you and Mary are doing well.

I can see someone doing this once, but I would have thought they would have seen the mistake after doing it once. No problem anyway.

They probably did only do it once, it is the same number sequence every time, so they probably just did them all en-masse.

Another thing you can do is go to their feedback and check "feedback left for others".... you'll be able to see if they always do this or if yours was an anomaly.... (that's how I solved my "e" and "t" feedbacks, the buyers normally left feedback that started with excellent or thank you and they were too fast for google chrome and entered only the first letter instead of selecting the recently used phrase....when they left mine, I could see what they normally left (and they left a lot of Es and Ts to others too!)

There was a time, before the last "feedback page" change where one could simply type in the first letter (or number) of their stored feedback, populating and poof, Bob's your uncle but, apparently since that oh so very necessary page change, it never/sometimes works as such no longer so, only the one letter/number shows up.  Short sentences are over-rated.

Of course, I could have read the response before mine and avoided having been redundant.

I send individual feedbacks manually for each item to all customers.

But in my process, I do it from the "my ebay" page.

Chrome has still been reliably filling in the field for me after I type the first character.... I have about 10 custom feedbacks for a new customer and the same for a repeat customer and I still only have to put the first character in... (but I too have hit enter too soon on some of them and have left an "e" or "p" feedback for a customer 😞 )

It looks like a US tracking number. Is this person a seller too? Maybe they entered a tracking number for a customer that they copied for a multiple order, and then went to leave feedback and just entered "paste" without realizing their mistake...

It's one of the strange situations I have seen recently where the only seller rating for one of my buyers is on the shipping charges, the other 3 have no ratings at all. I have wondered why this has been cropping up recently, I don't know why a seller would only have a seller rating in one category.

Ha! I took it one step further and put it in the USPS tracking system and YES it is a USA tracking number, it was delivered to Prescott AZ on May 24th.....

So it was an erroneous cut and paste to all items feedbacks at the same time.....

I hate mysteries so I'm glad it got figured out!!!

That was my buyer! Obviously checking the tracking to see an update and accidentally put it on the feedback. It's good to solve mysteries.
