I noticed this weekend that PayPal now has a special rate for:

* Small Packet USA (about 17.0% off) -- matching the eBay rate through Shippo

Everything else for Canada or USA matches the Canada Post Snap Ship / EST Online rates.

International rates not checked.

eBay discounted CPC rates via Shippo currently exist for:

* Expedited Parcel for Canada (about 6% off)
* Small Packet USA (about 17.0% off)
* Tracked Packet USA (about 9.5% off
* Expedited Parcel USA (about 8.6% off)
* International Small Packet Air (about 19.2% off)

Yes I noticed that a last week. I was surprised that small packet USA had a discount, I don't think that has ever happened. Expedited for Canada has always had the discount.

Nice to know about the other discounts, thanks for letting us know that.

It looks like Canada Post wants to push Small Packet at eBay sellers to get away from using Light Packet.

That's good to know. I've automatically been going to Shippo when I have a Small Packet USA for $7.05.

I've shipped quite a few Expedited Canada recently and in the <500 g range, Shippo has been 80 cents to a $1.00 cheaper than PayPal. I don't know about >500 g

PayPal has the same Expedited parcel rate as using the Canada Post website. No extra discount for PayPal.

The first rate step for Expedited parcel for Canada is 750g and under.

Outside Canada it's 500g and under for the first price.

It seems I misunderstood. I thought you said that PayPal and Shippo had the same price for Expedited Canada, which is not the case. If PayPal and the CP website are the same price, then Shippo is the cheapest. Also I meant to say <750 g not <500 g. For too many years, I always thought 500 g was the cut-off point for the first level, so that's stuck in my mind.

It used to be 500g for Canada as well. Canada Post changed the Canadian bottom levels 10 years ago.

1-500g became 1-750g.

501g-1kg became 751g-1kg

Prices for parcels 1-500g and 751g-1kg went up and 501g-750g went down.

Along with some silly marketing-speak about how it would benefit shippers.

I am one of those sellers who uses Light Packet, and have been very concerned about the future of Light Packet. However, if Light Packet does get discontinued and the Small Packet discounted rates stay comparable at these current levels, that will be fine with me. I will now incorporate Small Packet into my shipping methods and will be able to resume using PayPal Shipping Labels for smaller light weight shipments.(( I have not & will not use Shippo.))
