Canada Post Tracked Service to Mexico Only ExpressPost International?

The only track-able service from Canada to Mexico I can get to calculate in a listing is Xpresspost - International at $64.33 for a 252 gram small box. Can anyone with experience shipping there please let me know if this is correct? International Tracked Packet will not calculate in any of my listings to Mexico. Works fine every where else but not Mexico. Thanks.

Unfortunately not all services are available to all countries with Canadapost. You can also ship by Priority Post to Mexico but that would be more expensive than Xpresspost. Another alternative would be by UPS but you would have to check with them for options. Have attached a link of the Canadapost options to Mexico along with the other requirements. Hope that will help.

Thank you. That explains why I recently lost a small sale. I couldn't figure out the problem in time. At least I know now. Thanks for your input!

Re: Canada Post Tracked Service to Mexico Only ExpressPost International?

When Canada Post has an unusually high cost for shipping to a particular destination, it usually means that shipping there is very likely to be unsuccessful.

Mexico's postal service does not have a good reputation .

Thank you. You're not the 1st person I've heard that from. All we can do when shipping anywhere to minimize loss is track and insure it if the value is high. Too bad some people have light fingers making it difficult for the rest. Thanks

Re: Canada Post Tracked Service to Mexico Only ExpressPost International?

If you can work with insured but not tracked to mexico then small packet international air through shippo works. Just buy the insurance through shippo when making your shipping label. It costs $1 USD for each $100 in coverage. You need a scan in receipt from the post office and the receipt needs a day stamp from the post office on it.

That simple. This is the only way we ship to mexico unless the buyer contacts us and wants to pay for xpresspost.

Personally I would not send anything over $50 USD to mexico anyways.

Re: Canada Post Tracked Service to Mexico Only ExpressPost International?

Thanks everyone. Very helpful! Should the item go missing at no fault of the buyer or seller the seller is going to get bad feedback unless he/she can replace the item. In my case all items are "one only". It looks like the cheapest way to protect the item from loss and subsequent damage to your eBay rating is Xpresspost. Very awkward to explain the above conversation to a resident in Mexico. The solution is exclude it. I wouldn't want to do that before testing the market. Maximus suggestion to cap his/her values would be good for a regular customer. There is still risk to the fb rating from a stranger. The decision has something to do with what you sell as well. If your market isn't in Mexico why risk it?
I've decided to include Mexico with Xpresspost only. Currently my items show up as "the Seller ships to Mexico. Contact them for costs". I'm going to change that. to avoid having this conversation with a buyer and consider an initial cap of $100 so I don't have to deal with two insurance companies using Shippo.
