Canadian but have a eBay.com address and want to sell in Canada but want to be paid in U.S. $

Listing on .CA = CDN $ payouts. If you want to be paid in USD, you must list on the USA eBay site(.COM). Your listings show on both sites regardless of which site you choose to post the listings. However, if it is USD funds you are wanting as payout, you must list on the .COM site.

Not actually so.  When you first sign up for Managed Payments you have one chance, irrevocable, to choose the currency for your payouts.  I selected $US as I have a use for them. 

I list on .com and .ca.  On .ca listings are in  $CDN but eBay converts them to US$ for payouts.   Not the best exchange rate of course, so I don't list much on .ca.  I did  a few .ca items for the recent 50% FVF promotion.

So if you want to receive US$, the key is to set that up in Managed Payments.  If you are receiving CDN$ form MP, you cannot change it to US$, and need to set up a new eBay account.

Thank you for correcting me on that...forgot  about that little bit about having to make the right decision when setting up Managed Payments. When I signed up for MP there was still a lot of confusion over USD/CDN pay out and a lot of issues for many sellers...

Exactly what do want to accomplish? If you plan to list primarily on .ca (in CA$) but have all your payouts in USD you will be paying a very high conversion rate that you can do better at ANY bank and MUCH better if you use a currency conversion  specialist. Plus you have control over the date to do the exchange which can be an additional advantage given the volitlity betwwen the US and CA currencies.

It's only makes sense if you want to place all your listing on .com
