Canadians buyers vs high shipping costs

The looming tariff threat obviously has a lot of us on the edge of our seats. I feel if ebay offered a competitive ship rate to Canadian buyers, I could keep more business in our borders. Other selling market apps have a standard rate of $13. Drawback is max weight is 5 kg but would still be a huge help! I lose money every time I ship within Canada because I'm not willing to charge what it actually costs to ship. How could a group of loyal sellers ask ebay to look into discounted national rates?? BTW I live in a smaller place so no off brand shipping companies work for me, Canada post only

I do believe you need to research your within Canada shipping costs. I don't know your method of shipping, but for example, the Newlands Lady Galt pattern book can be shipped oversize lettermail for less than $10...

BTW, it really is not possible for"How could a group of loyal sellers ask ebay to look into discounted national rates??" eBay negotiates discounts with Canada Post...eBay sellers have no bearing/no say on what discounts are negotiated...

When is the last time you checked? There's several off brand companies that do pickups from *most* places at pretty good rates.  I've been trying to explore a number of them over the past few weeks myself.  I've already been able to lower a lot of my shipping prices fairly substantially.

You need to look into different rates and methods of shipping. For example, your one direction cookie box could be shipped for about $2.50 (2 P stamps) untracked or $8.XX tracked to most places (Expedited Lite). You have it listed with $19.99 shipping.

With that said, I think the Canada Post Strike exposed a major weakness with eBay Canada. They need to consider partnering with firms like Stallion and Chit Chats, negotiating the best possible rates, integrating it directly into the website. I understand not everybody has access to those shipping companies, but a large chunk of sellers do.

Unfortunately your location in Brandon does you no favours when it come to shipping. Your only benefit is being in the middle of the country and never ship the distances you would if you were on Vancouver Island or Newfoundland.

I did notice that you have quite a few things that can go Lettermail in Canada but it looks like you are using Expedited Package.

You could try contacting Sendle, I do not know if they service Brandon, they are a consolidator that works with many different carriers.

As far as Canada Post, if eBay could negotiate better pricing they would, the big impediment is that they can't do any type of consolidation, presort or zone skip, it's all individual packages shipped from thousands of different locations.
