Corporate Greed - When will sellers have their year, month or even single day?

According to an article online at:

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-ebay-results-idUSKBN0ND2GS20150422

Revenue from eBay's payments.. rose 14 percent to $2.11 billion in the first quarter, accounting for nearly half of its total revenue.

How is it companies like this make so much money and nickel and dime you to death with their fees. Do you remember when they started charging fees on top of the items that you shipped? One day it didn't exist and BAM, there it was right on your invoice. Did we have a say in the matter? Did eBay even care. I was surprised at that time and often wondered why didn't eBay sellers get together a sue these guys (class action) as I'm sure a ton of US lawyers would love that bone.

The CEOs make their money while  the average seller is getting buy, if that. It is nothing short of parasitic and doesn't equate to a fair and balanced system. My question is "Why hasn't someone done it better"? It's not rocket science and with all the brain talent out there the next guy that comes along and creates a selling system that that actually works (without all the negatives) is going to do well.

Ebay has now stated they will change things again for Canadians. Here we go again....

How about using recent info, instead of out of date financials ...

You are posting an article from 2015 before eBay spun off PayPal as a separate company.

Allow me to ask a simple question:  what bank do you deal with?  How much money have they made last year?

How does that compare to the previous year and the five preceeding years?  Did you get a better service for the fees charged?

Related Pet Peeve:  Ebay  might have several promotions in a row for one type of listing,  then just when you're comfortable with that they make a sudden switch.

I used to get nailed by that every time.  Now I'm super-vigilant.

I'm sure I'm not alone, and I'm also sure it's by design.  They probably have shrinks who analyze how best to hypnotize us into complacency and calculate the most profitable time to pull the switcharoo.

The money they make with those manoeuvres is  probably nothing to sneeze at either.
