EBAY MANAGED PAYMENT

IS  THIS  MANDATORY  ?  can a  seller  refuse  to  sign  up  for  managed  payment ?  is  there  any  advantage  for  sellers  to  sign  up  for  MP   versus  staying  with  pay pal ?

Yes, MP is mandatory.  Yes, a seller can refuse to sign up for managed payment, if the seller doesn't want to continue selling on eBay anymore. Sellers will no longer be able to sell on eBay without MP. eBay has been promoting the advantages for the past 18 months or so ... there will be no "MP versus staying with PayPal ".  Staying with PayPal is not an option.

Managed Payments will be mandatory at some point in the future for everyone.

The switchover will be in stages, starting in July and probably complete some time in 2021 for ebay.CA

PayPal will still be a choice for people who buy on ebay,  but not for selling on ebay.
