I sold an item yesterday, mailed it the same day (to the US with Tracked Package) and woke up this morning to see I had feedback from buyer "Has not arrived". I know you can't leave negative feedback this soon but they marked as positive with this negative comment. This irks me that now at the top of my feedback is the "Has Not Arrived" front and center. Though I added a reply that can only be seen if people click on the link to show more info.
I have messaged them saying they only bought item yesterday and it's coming from Canada and did they confused me with someone else. I don't think I'll hear back.
Sorry just kind of venting but didn't realize feedback could be left immediately for an item purchased, guess this was always the case?

Just need to contact ebay chat, they'll remove it. Clearly against rules to states something did not arrived while estimated delivery time is not passed.

That's what I would have thought! I'll wait to see if the buyer removes it themselves (I have messaged them) and if not will try and get it removed.

The only rule I'm aware of regarding timing of feedback it that you can't leave negative feedback for 7 days if the seller is trs. That used to be just for power sellers but now that there is not a PS program, trs sellers qualify.

My understanding is that you should never reply to the feedback before contacting customer service. I've heard that replying to it prevents them from removing it (at least without going waaayyy up the chain). It would be nice to get confirmation on that though.

I think that is an old wive's tale. It probably started by one poster saying it and as people began repeating it, it become 'true'. Of course that is just my opinion.
But, I do think that most people do not read positive feedback and adding a reply only makes that feedback stand out more. However, the reply was polite and just stated the facts so it is a good reply.
As far as the buyer removing it, I don't think that a buyer can remove or change a positive. Only ebay would be able to remove it and since it is a positive, I wouldn't worry about it.

Just as a note, I don't think anyone answered it specifically, but yes one can leave positive feedback immediately.
I have had buyers immediately leave positive feedback after purchasing. It is rare but happens a couple times a year, not necessarily from repeat customers either, often overseas buyers.

I am Top Rated and although they couldn't leave negative feedback officially (can't click negative this early), it was checked off as green/positive but I thought anyone reading their comment "Haven't received my item" wouldn't realize they had only bought it the day before lol. The wording was negative with a positive button pressed.
I used customer service chat with transcript earlier today and was told I would hear back by email and was just told it has been removed since it met criteria (woohoo). It was the principal of them saying what they did in feedback which had me concerned. Interestingly the buyer themselves responded to me and they said they knew it wouldn't come this early but they saw request for feedback so that's what they put.
Thanks to everyone who responded. 🙂

I couldn't resist when I woke up to see it (even before coffee) so I had left response to feedback (politely explaining) just in case anyone read the "Haven't received yet" right at the top of the list, at least they would know it only sold the day before. It looks like it didn't prevent eBay from removing it (though I did have to go two rungs up the chain), it is gone now.

Well it's gone , so I guess Customer Service gets a gold star on this one.
And you have a new member for your Blocked Buyer Club.
Is the hype over the movie doing anything for your sales?
I may actually go to see it because I like Margot Robbie (and Simi Liu but don't tell DH).

LOL I don't think the movie has done anything for sales (at least not for me), I sell more of the vintage 70's dolls and I think it's a younger market for the movie. June being pride month on the other hand has always helped a little. There are a lot of male Barbie collectors out there, they are a big customer base for me!
