Feedback- Sellers

Why do sellers not leave feedback when I purchase the item and pay in full.  As a buyer, I refuse to leave feedback unless the seller has already done their part.  And yea, I swear 2 out of 3 times I buy, feedback is never exchanged.

"Why do sellers not leave feedback when I purchase the item and pay in full."

I wish I had an answer to that question - asked here regularly by both sellers and buyers.

The simple reality is that feedback is voluntary.  Most sellers (60% to 80%) do leave feedback for their buyers but many (20% to 40%) do not.

I totally agree with your policy although I realize some sellers do not. They feel they should get feedback first from their buyers.

Different strokes for different folks..

Re: Feedback- Sellers

My opinion is that the seller believes that they won't "reward" the buyer with feedback until the buyer tells them all is well (a hangover from the good old days when sellers could leave negatives and sellers holding back feedback provided a "threat" if the buyer responded with issues etc because the seller could neg them back) and/or the seller plans to leave a false positive if the buyer neutrals or negs them.

I've seen buyers leave neutrals and even negatives to sellers for not leaving feedback first, so it is an unnecessary risk to hold back on feedback these days because false negatives are against policy anyway and giving a positive to a buyer that turns out to be a problem isn't much of a risk to the seller as they will block them from re-buying anyway.

I think leaving a prompt positive feedback promotes quicker and more positive feedbacks from buyers, but that is just my opinion for my selling group (stamp collectors)

So you are complaining about a seller doing EXACTLY what you are doing?

The sellers "part" is ensuring you get what you ordered, nothing more.

If you went to a retail store and the clerk didn't thank you as you left would you never go back to that store?

If your answer to that is yes then you are way too sensitive.

Feedback is removable if

Feedback or DSR related defects is a result of seller not leaving Feedback for a buyer.

and ... for a buyer that consistently leaves negative feedback.... Does not look good on that buyer's record.
