FWIW feedback now shows verified purchase. Newly added for the app. Coming soon/eventually on PC. Like this post unsure of its value. See comments for your own conclusions.

Because on other sites it is possible to leave feedback without a purchase being made? Huh? Unsure what would happen after the fact if the buyer un-registers? Is it at that point the transactions "Vertified non-grata"?

Basically piggybacked onto this announcement from end of 2023 dot com only. It didn't go over well either.

The announcement pretty much explains it all.

We understand that experienced buyers and sellers on eBay may view the additional text as unnecessary. However, before implementing this change, surveys with eBay users showed that half of them didn’t know that feedback can only be left by those involved in a purchase. This text removes any doubt.

Yes, I know another non issue being made into an issue.

This makes common sense, when you consider more than 50% of them didn’t know that feedback can only be left by those involved in a purchase. This text removes any doubt.

There may be a small flaw with Verified Purchases?!?!? You be the judge.

Sold a low value item around the 12th of this month. Shipped letter. Buyer receives item and leaves feedback approx. on the most recent weekend. 

Get a message this morning from eBay(mail/gmail) that the particular transaction has been cancelled due to "safety" concerns. The buyer had their account priviledges revoked. The feedback they left is now MIA. Mine to buyer remains. Notes on feedback buyer unregistered. Transaction verified. Guess this makes the transaction...transaction non-grata. 

As per eBay cs funds will not be reversed. the message from eBay stateed the following:

Here’s what you should do

• Don’t complete the sale or ship the item to xxxxxxxxx if you haven’t done so yet.
• Don’t communicate any further with xxxxxxxx , especially if they get in touch with you outside of eBay. 
• If xxxxxxx requests a payment or refund, don’t send any money without contacting eBay first. If payment was processed, a refund has not been issued yet just in case you’ve already shipped the item.
• If you already sent the item, contact the shipper to find out if you can stop the delivery and have the item returned to you.
• If your listing has ended, you can relist your item.

If a buyer account is suspended within 90 days of it's creation ALL feedback they left is removed. This policy has been in effect for AT LEAST 15 years.

Only reason I noticed was because it was a recent transaction. Unsure of the rational for removing a transaction when for both parties it was considered sucessful.
