Free shipping in October....sort of and maybe

Canada Post has made no announcement whether we will get a free shipment in October as we have for the last few years.

For those unaware of this perk, it was one Regular Parcel each Tuesday of the month

Which is a nice freebie.

But for those who rarely need parcel service, might I suggest using it, should it happen at all, to ship blanket or children's winter clothing to NT and NU Women's Shelters.

The cost of everything is very high in the North and the need is great.

I'll post some addresses if the freebie is announced.

There is even a contest to win free shipping for a whole year (up to 5000$)!

Reading that is has 1 free shipment to Canada, last year it also provided a free small packet to the US.   It would be nice if that is offered again when the full blown announcement is made.

I got an email from Canada Post this morning so looks like they are still doing the free shipping Tuesdays, doesn't mention US this time (guess that was a special for last year only).

They are however also giving a bonus ship to anyone who used the service last year and it can be used any time between now and October 31 if you get an emailed code.

Looks like the freebie is happening, very kind of you to suggest the donations!

Note that the limit is 5 KG.  To bad, I have 50 pounds of bulk lego parts 🙂
