Ill take you through this step by step:
1) Ebay will ONLY accept tracking numbers as proof that a seller has shipped an item. Therefore if you want to protect yourself against false claims you MUST have it. How I know this is, I asked Ebay recently to confirm that a package of mine had been received. I had the buyer make a statement to them that he had indeed gotten it was happy with it and left me positive feedback. They said this proved nothing.
How that effects you as a seller is that in order to make sure you have this proof you sent, you have to use the tracking option when shipping. It's important for you to know that this is not cheap, especially if your shipping to another country. Now the fallout of this is that buyers are far less likely to buy from you if they see really expensive shipping. Now your choice there is to leave yourself unprotected or sell your items at a much much cheaper price in order to compensate for the costs of shipping with tracking.
2) Sellers should have the same rights as buyers. We are risking just as much as they are in a transaction. By this I mean sellers should have the right to leave negative feedback and if your going to subject sellers to rules that force them to prove they are trustworthy, the same should be done to buyers.
How that effects you as a sellers is that, lets say a buyer wants to get your item and doesn't want to pay you, all they have to do is lodge a false claim and then if you try to fight them on it, threaten to leave you a negative feedback if you don't back off and theres nothing you can do about it because as ebay has told me, ONLY a buyer can give approval for feedback to be removed. If this happens a seller should be able to leave a negative feedback as well. NOT out of retaliation, but because the buyer has behaved badly and therefore deserves the same treatment and reputation that a bad seller does.
Now there are people on here who claim even though we are paying customers of Ebay's to sell on here, we should just accept everything they do and not put up a fight because they think it will do no good. But the problem there is if we don't try to get these things changed, then it's 100% that they never will be. I would rather take a small chance then have no chance at all.
And as you will see, allot of people replying to this will pick out only certain parts of my argument or focus on only one part or try to sway it off tangent into some other topic and just troll and try to have it shut down, if they do that I will simply re-post it.
I am making an argument for fairness and rules that allow for businesses on here to sell more and make a profit. And to have buyers and sellers on a level playing field because both are equally important to the success of this site.

As far as i can tell you are so one 100 per cent on the mark. Bloody sad that ebay in there quest to prove to buyers that they are guaranteed to get what they want even if they are wrong very said that they are destroying the great sellers that there are on here inviting bad buyers that can do no wrong, get items free if not as desciibed, its getting bad and dishonest buyer are getting plentiful, really sad to see what ebay is doing but great sellers arnt the backbone anymore dishonest buyers are ,just my opinion

Out of curiousity , how many of these bad buyers do you get? 10 a day, 5 a day, 1 in a month, 1 in a year. My guess would be 1 in6 to 12 months.Seems to be a lot of negativity for something that happens very rarely.
When you purchase an item, would you not want to be assured that your item will come and you won't be ripped off. Just my opinion.

Starting a new thread every time you are told you are wrong is not going to help persuade anyone.

Riddle me this oh wise one ?
Why is it that millions of sellers are able to cope with the policies as they are ?
That would be the policies that you agreed to when you started.
