How to avoid PayPal US$ to CAD$ convertion fees?

Hey guys!

So most of my sales are in US$ and I'm a Canadian seller.

I opened a US$ bank account at RBC thinking I could transfer my US$ from PayPal to this account and avoid the currency exchange rate.

It appears even with a US$ bank account and transferring actual US$, PayPal STILL REQUIRES me to first convert them to CAD$. They won't let me avoid their convertion fees...

Is there any way I can work around this?

Just a final update that I've successfully moved two times each:

From Canadian Bank US$ account to Canadian Bank $C account

From US Bank US$ account to Canadian Bank $C account

and I've already saved over $125.00 in conversion charges!

The set up process did encounter some problems but the support staff via email and phone were excellent throughout until things were working ok. So some patience will be required in the set up process if anyone else tries it.

Speaking of patience, as well, the end to end process to move and convert the money takes 4 to 5 business days or so to complete, so they are not what one wants to use if one needs the money quickly.
