   Apparently Trump, his complete administration representing our American customers are following through on their threat.

   After a long heart to heart, and a generous period of considerance afforded to Mr. Trump, as of February 1, 2025 no sales of our historic music will cross our Canada USA border.

  At this time no other global countries are effected other than the United States of America. Music is universal. No politician should have control over who can afford it's heritage.

Further Inormation on Trumps De Minimus Position

@mandicrafts    also for @lotzofuniquegoodies

I don't think you have up to date information. The US De minimus rule has been under review for a year. Biden had changes ready to go in September. Since then Trumps crew is posturing to revoke the current rule. This report was released 3 days ago on January 29, 2025. I do not know if it has been fact checked. One sentance that stuck out in my mind is " The de minimis exemption applies to merchandise imported by one person on one day.";

CBP Proposes to Modify the De Minimis Exemption

Proposal Excludes Certain Low-Value Imports and Introduces New Entry Requirements
Holland & Knight Alert
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, published a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Jan. 21, 2025 (Jan. 21 NPRM), narrowing the scope of the administrative exemption under Section 321(a)(2)(C) of the Tariff Act of 1930 (de minimis exemption). The Jan. 21 NPRM proposes that shipments valued at $800 or less and covered by Section 201, Section 232 or Section 301 tariffs be ineligible for the de minimis exemption. Importers of such goods will be required to pay both the standard duties and fees and any additional duties imposed pursuant to trade and national security actions.

I thought "free speech" was a top priority with Mr.  I like to sign my name in ego oversized books. Maybe that is only if that free speech is from a US first perspective.  I guess no more Rockin' in the Free World to US orders!!

Does that mean Canadians are still permitted to ship US musicians to to the USA but only if the item was produced/manufactured in the USA and packaged in a box that was contructed in the USA? Hmmmm....

Yes, provided they are boy musicians or girl musicians.  For March 3. 2025  Mr. Trump's "Gender Verification Machine" will be at all border crossings. Wear clean underwear.

I plan to offer 50% reimbursement on any tariff charged rather than lower my prices to stay competitive or boycott sales to the US. 12.5% is manageable. They can message me a photo of the tariff receipt. I just won’t entertain lower offers from US customers. I do wonder if US customers will boycott all Canadian sellers because they will assume its too much hassle.

For those who are waiting to see, the di minimus exemption is being dropped and the orange a**hole is serious, about tariffs, because annexing Canada is his end time goal and he’s already said he’ll break us financially until we give.

Kudos @prescilaschina

     Few sellers have a strategy moving forward like you do.  I really like that you have a plan.

   Under the eBay umbrella "reimbeursements" are tricky as eBay fees are based on selling prices. There is a lot of math to untangle the refunds in a normal set of books.

   Any strategy is dependant on a unique niche and needs.  Since this tariff crisis started Feb 1  I stopped selling to the US.  I never boycotted the US.  They have a problem to fix. I stopped sales there in order to give myself a break from the tariff "noise".  After November's month long postal strike this crisis is worth stepping back from.  Even one single item sale, for whatever reason, that is delayed at the border could cost you your seller rating and probably cost you many hours of troubleshooting to get back to business. We all have to ask ourselves if that is worth it.

  This crisis is the 3rd in a short time including the pandemic. There was the postal strike and now this dysfunction of the United States government.  It looks like Canada will see an election in March. My history in music with the United States has been positive since 1969. I miss my USA friends a lot. I would never boycott them. With that in mind my time is better spent preparing for what is coming next rather than troubleshooting buyers and borders.

Well, as I sell nothing with a value of over $50, I have no intention of making any changes to the way I list/sell on eBay or my other selling site. I will continue to offer my items to Canada and USA just as I have been doing so for the past many years.None of my most recent shipments to the USA, have been delayed at the border. In  fact, the transit/delivery time has been quicker than normal. I list/sell nothing made in China>99% of the items I list are made in Canada or Made in USA.

If perchance the fascist Dictator of the USA actually sees the harm that will come to the USA for all these malicious forthcomings and how alienated the USA will become as a result, we may see some backpeddling and at the very least maybe a little bit of hope that some things may only be temporary...but nonetheless, we can hope....

Remember that there could be processing fees on top of the tariff as well, and those might be greater than the actual tariff.
