Item Removal for NO Reasons

I ended 4 items early last night and noticed that one of them is missing from my unsold inventory!!  There is no reasons for any removal not even for violation reasons at all.  Now I see why many of my items are missing regardless of what the last few months.  Wonder why eBay would do that??  Anyone knew or have the same experiences?

Item Removal for NO Reasons

Not true. Listing will not be deleted. Active content should be removed by June 2017 and then it will be disabled in the listing. No deleted listings as far as I understand.

This is what I understood from the announcement about active content as well.  No need to panic in other words.

However, I think any seller who still has active content (like me) should probably be working to remove it from listings, or else you'll keep getting those annoying warning messages from eBay.  I also wouldn't be surprised if several months after the June deadline eBay gets more demanding about sellers cleaning up even the old, disabled "junk" in their listings, so we might as well do it now.

You would probably know this 'poco' -- is it especially all the active content eBay itself has placed on the site (non-eBay advertising) that's making the whole site twitchy, slow, and awkward to move around?  I find it extremely frustrating to see those little circles going 'round and 'round and 'round until the Sears ads (or whatever it happens to be) finally fully load and display.  On the other hand, if there's something I'm actually doing wrong, I'd love to know because it's been getting worse on eBay over the past few months.  I can hardly bear to search for anything anymore as a buyer.  And of course, as a seller I have to wonder how this is affecting my buyers.

By the way, I wanted to mention (for those who use Auctiva) that Auctiva seems to be on top of this issue and has stated they'll be automagically removing and replacing the scrolling galleries on listings before the eBay deadline (if those listings were generated from Auctiva).

Personally I'm waiting until Auctiva does their first sweep, then I'm going to have to remove the scrolling galleries that got carried over when I created listings on eBay from listings I originally created on Auctiva.  That's what I get for trying to save some money on Auctiva fees -- more "busy-work".  Woman Very Happy

It doesn't work as it was asking for item # which is pure impossible to remember each item #!!  None in Archival even it has "9" but it is actually nothing there.  Thanks.

What about when you click on your user iD and then the Items for Sale link and then filter by Completed? I cannot do it with your present ID since you don't seem to use it to sell.

Is 'active content' blocked by AdBlock?

Because I've never really noticed ads from other companies. I'm sure they are there but not on my eBay.

AdBlock halts the ads I used to see running alongside the right-hand side and bottom of the page. I assume it's the active content that's being blocked but I'm not smart enough to speak true geek. I'll do comparison screenshots tomorrow and return to the thread with that.

Without AdBlock running:

I resisted installing AdBlock for the longest time because I wanted to see what ads were running on my Item Listing pages so that I could replicate a buyer's experience on my listings. Eventually, I was forced to capitulate and install AdBlock because my pages were just loading too slowly for me to be able to do my work. In addition to this ad at top-right, there is almost always a banner ad running along the bottom of the page too. But it's less interesting as it's less visible although the bottom banner ad might be the one that slows it down the most.

I have always used AdBlockPlus because eBay pages were overloaded with features and ads. At least 6-7 years I used AdBlockPlus.

i do not use an ad blocker on my other browsers I use to get a feel for what a buyer would see. Sometimes it is fine other times not.

ebay finally realized that making the buyer experience so slow and bad was not worth having all the ads. This Spring Seller Update is supposed to remove them or most of them from what I understood.

I am always surprised at how long it takes for eBay to realize it hurts their site and sellers and buyers with some of their changes. Numerous slow eBay complaints have been in the technical issues forums for the past two three years.

The problem isn't so much as how soon they realized it as it is how long it takes a large company to implement "big" changes.

The time it takes large companies to get a problem recognized, prioritized, cost/savings estimated, budgeted, agreed to, staffed, planned, constructed, tested and implemented sadly takes a long time because there are many layers of the company that are involved.

I have some "other life" experience with large companies and 1 to 2 years could be seen as "quick".

We're "lucky" that we're a small operation that can see something's wrong, figure out what to do and hopefully quickly implement the same...

Hi.  Guess what the item I thought was "removed by eBay" popped up in my Unsold Inventory today!  It took 4 days before finally popped up!  Very strange.  It seems that the eBay system is getting more and more wacko lately.

I am still unable to post or relist 4 books for over a week now!  It kept saying it is a "problem" and in a wrong category as if!
