Lots of buyers with no paypal and no feedback bought something today.

Today I had 3 buyers zero feedback, no paypal, make 4 purchases (immediate payment).  2 CD's by Chris Botti and 2 CD's by Dan Gibson (Solitudes) coincidence, maybe, but I'll take it.   All Canadian, all sales off .ca.  I am happy.

So new buyers are shopping and I am so happy that I took off the paypal requirement as my sales for zero feedback buyers has increased.

I'm not sure I understand, how did you remove PayPal? Do you have your own credit card system?

OP removed the requirement that the buyer had to have a paypal account to purchase.

Paypal can also process a credit card for an eBay purchase made by a buyer without a paypal account -- a credit card system is not a requirement for the seller.

I've mentioned this before in other threads, but everyone starts at zero feedback. My favourite (ex) zero feedback buyer is somewhere around 40 now, and ALL of them are from me. I am the only person they've ever purchased from to date!!!

I also have a couple buyers who do exactly that, every time they buy it is a new ebay userid (the automagic one). I'm assuming they just purchase using a credit card each time and don't have a paypal account either. They've both purchased many lots this way.

Now I live in a "safer" world of selling stamps so one has to take that into account......

I've known about this, but never understood how it actually operates (from the buyer's perspective).  Obviously it does though.  I've never tried making a purchase from a credit card on eBay because I always go through Paypal, so I have no direct experience in this.

Like the OP, I had my preferences set for a long time to block buyers without a Paypal account, assuming that anybody with a credit card could easily sign up to Paypal to make a purchase and use their credit card that way.  I was under the impression for a long time that the only alternative was for me to have a merchant account to offer direct credit card payments -- which I'm sure is an expensive proposition, not for every seller.

However, I'm glad that payment is in fact flexible on eBay.  I've taken that Paypal block off a few months ago, because I was hoping it would open up buying options -- and increase sales.  I'm not sure there has been any significant increase in sales as a direct result, but then that would be very difficult to prove.
