So all the talk of it being ok to put things in lettermail as long as they meet canada posts guidlines.
been doing this for awhile. and its great!! cheap shipping! easy shipping! fast shipping!!
well folks. today that has changed. this will impact many fast.
today my regular shipments. cost me money out of my pocket. and maybe you soon too!!! be warned....
No notice anywhere. but the canada post employees have the memo
United States Will No Longer ACCEPT ITEMS in Letter mail or oversized lettermail.
Ouch! my roughly 6.00 shipment cost 27 today. lost all my profits. and had to take money out of my own pocket to pay for it.
not trying to complain here. just a heads up to everyone, this memo went across canada.
i mail pretty much daily. so this is like today new.
more work for the post office ladies! more costs to usa buyers! and more profits for Canada post who cant guranteee $!#!! anyway
😜
any other canadian usa sellers experience the new RULES.
im assuming this was Made BY usa. because they said they will refuse items in lettermail. that are not declared!
canada post lady also stated this does not effect shipping within canada & i assume other internatinal countries. but i need to ask about other international countries......
Can't wait to see what small business is like in 2022!!!!!!
will they even exist!

For the two weeks old order I wouldn't bother adding in the tracking unless the buyer opens an inr. If you add the UR number now, I think that it will change your ship to date as today or to when the package was first scanned in the US.
Interesting nuance with eBay labels from my understanding you are unable to update/modify/change the number that ebay plops in the tracking field. I believe its a non trackable transaction id vs the UR number that is included with the same label. With Shippo, not an issue.

Within the past several months I for the first time used ebay labels to twice purchase small packet USA labels. As noted above, immediately after purchase they insert that odd label id number into the tracking field. The first shipment I just shrugged and let it play out to see what would transpire, to my surprise the system automatically added the UR number just prior to delivery along with the shipments movements from arrival at customs to final delivery. With the second shipment I got a little impatient as the expected delivery date approached, I manually added the UR number myself, after a couple of days had passed the system once again uploaded tracking to final delivery. Based on those experiences if I were to use ebay labels to purchase another small packet USA label I will not worry about adding the UR number, it seems the system does that automatically just prior to delivery.
Has anyone else noticed this behaviour?

Thanks for the headsup on that observation. Must have been too many requests for that and they fixed. I've been doing my labels with Shippo for years. No issues and it has my SSB account attached so it shipments accumulate. Rate/Fuel Surcharge updates are done in a timely manner. Unsure if that is always the case with eBay Labels. From personal regular comparing that doesn't appear to be the case. I have no fears of voids taking forever. I manually add the UR. Plus Shippo gives me more shipping options and reliable billing in relationship to eBay Labels along with a more detailed customs form. Have yet to find an actual perk to using eBay labels so will stick with what works.

I have always added the UR # for small packet labels purchased through eBay, and have never encountered any issues/problems/concerns from the buyers...Having not purchased any Small Packet labels through eBay for several weeks now, have not been acquainted with the mentioned procedure of the UR # being auto added prior to delivery...
as I am at basic level for SSB account , there is no benefit to use any other shipping processing method and I find eBay labels is easy & convenient and that is the "perk" for my using them!
