New listing tool heavy lag

Am i alone to experience heavy lag with the new listing tool?

It's been 2 weeks and performance have not improved. I'm really frustrated about it as i pay $25/month for a store and eBay won't be viable to me to list without it being fixed. It takes me around 10 minutes to edit and list things i used to take 30 seconds. On long run if i have 100 listings to list, it will take me 60 hours instead of 50 minutes. Every website works with my computer, it's just eBay. It's like i'm using a 2005 computer trying to play and download 50 videos at the same time

I open a listing to edit:

I click on a specific:

 I scroll down:

I try to type, page freeze and firefox tell me the page is broken:

 I try to save listing:

It's like this non-stop, whatever i try to do. Situation is unnaceptable. Anyone else experiencing this heavy lag? Are they aware their tool is broken? I spam them with 1 star feedback every listing i success to list

Not as heavy as that but there is definite lag.  You may want to try Chrome, since the listing page is basically the same as the phone app.  LOL, maybe I should try a chromebook running on Android.

I haven't tried it myself though.

Re: New listing tool heavy lag

I had been reading all the nightmare stories here and dreading the day the change would actually be made on my end. That happened just a couple of days ago for me and (possibly because I was anticipating the worst!) I was pleasantly surprised that I did not have as many problems as I thought. There were not any lag problems (nada). My photos load within seconds (about the same amount of time as the previous way), I have had my shipping policies set up for a long time and the "default" is fine and correct each time. The only thing that takes a little longer is that there seems to be much going on in the dreaded "item specifics" area but I quickly learned to scan the list and the items with the darker circling  are the ones I have to check closely are correct since I already have info in those fields (since I use sell similar). And thanks to the great people out there (lotz comes to mind) who warned of checking for info carrying forward I know what to scan for just in case.

For me I use Safari on a Mac desktop and my photos are uploaded from my trusty old Nikon camera (not my phone), I'm still a dinosaur and dread change but (knock on wood) so far so good. I haven't had to call the kids in to try and help me even once. You'll hear back if my luck changes.

I hope it gets worked out soon for those having the lag problems you mention!

Re: New listing tool heavy lag

The photo loading is pretty quick with the drag and drop.

I use templates a lot, so most of my Item Specifics are pre-loaded, but it is still slow to enter new ones.

I finally figured out how to make the Description accept my bits of HTML (which I believe not only give me a bit of branding, but also makes my Description noticeable on the screen) But it's still a pain to have to reload it every time I make a brand-new listing that doesn't fit the template.

The pricing, especially for International selling, which includes USA, is still unclear and hard to work out. We are already seeing newbies wondering how to sell outside the USA since it is difficult to see that this is a different  point.

I consider myself lucky that I have never offered my customers a choice of shipping services. I shudder to think.

The carry forwards that don't are a constant worry.

Re: New listing tool heavy lag

Yes. My lag isn't QUITE that bad, but I frequently type in item specifics only to have them vanish 15 seconds later. I've also found that item specifics will sometimes appear depending on other item specifics you select, and they're not always in the vicinity of where you are in the listing - not to mention some of them seem to prepopulate. There's nothing worse than posting a listing and then wondering where the heck a bunch of (often wrong) information came from.

Re: New listing tool heavy lag

I have not noticed a time difference with the new listing tool. The "size" of the pictures might make a difference, I'm still using rather "small" sized pictures relatively speaking.

I'm using Chrome.

Re: New listing tool heavy lag

As I am no longer listing any new items on eBay, all of my listings may only need an edit from time to time and therefore I don't anticipate any huge issues ... For me, the time consuming part comes with having to check every line to make sure eBay has not screwed up on things and must pay particular attention to the shipping section and check all the attributes/item specifics, etc.to make sure eBay has not messed that up by adding and/or deleting something therein...

I use Firefox...

Re: New listing tool heavy lag

I ended contacting the support cause it was driving me crazy. I doubt they'll fix anything, the support talked to me like it was the browsers or my computer fault. They suggested me to work on chrome. I downloaded it and it seems better. Still lag a bit but not as heavy. I always used firefox... Seems like it force us to use chrome. I guess eBay workers work on chrome and made the tool for it

Re: New listing tool heavy lag

Since Firefox works fine for me, for all tasks on my desktop, I have no intention of changing to another browser...eBay is but a small part of my online selling...and I don't bend to them! Implying that the problem is with the browser is as lame an excuse as can get...and when it comes to helping Canadian sellers, fixing anything on .CA...eBay has 0 interest!

It's not the browser. I keep one store open in Firefox and one open in Chrome (so I don't have to continually switch accounts). I have the same issues in both browsers.
