I didn't get an email about it. I'm just looking at the promo information on the site....there was a link on my selling manager page. Are there actually 2 versions on the ebay site as well?

I wonder if they are just referring to when a seller uses the automatic relist option.

To check I would relist one item and see how it showed up on the promotion count.

I suspect this refers to the auto-relist feature that has been available to some sellers

Re: New promo: Dec 8 to Dec 18, 1000 free auctions per day

Someone who received the 'no relists' emails actually tried using relist and the amount was take off of their regular free listing total?

It just doesn't make sense to me because using sell similar for an item that was already listed is still basically relisting an item...it isn't really new listing.

That makes sense to me. I wonder if those who receive the auto relist feature are the ones who received the 'no relist' promotion offer? I don't ever see the auto relist option and I didn't receive the promo that states new listings only.

I didn't get the promo on this id but my non-store id did and it's the "no relist" offer. If I recall the auto-relist feature was only for non-store sellers.

I have a store and had the free relist feature. (I wish it wasn't ending *sigh*).

The promo I received said nothing about no relists.

Mine was the "no relist" one. When I tried to relist I get charged fees. However, I could use "sell similar" without having charged anything. So to me it's only one button difference. (I don't use any listing tools; I simply list via the website)

Re: New promo: Dec 8 to Dec 18, 1000 free auctions per day

I just read the promo letter and this line jumped out at me.

Final value fees will be applied to the total amount of the sale, including the cost of the item, shipping, and any other fees a seller may charge—excluding any sales tax.

I know that we already pay FVF on the lowest domestic shipping cost but am wondering if eBay means they are going to charge us FVF on all shipping during the promo regardless of domestic shipping.  Or am I reading something into it that isn't there?

Yes you are seeing something that's not there.

That statement is the one that lets eBay charge a FVF on anything you might enter into the "other charges" field of the invoice.

For example, a buyer might ask about another item and a seller might say "no problem, I'll add it to you order and send a revised invoice" (and add the amount to "other charges"). maybe 7 or 8 years ago eBay decided they would charge a FVF on these extra charges to e;eliminate one method of fee avoidance.

Re: New promo: Dec 8 to Dec 18, 1000 free auctions per day

This morning I got on my Summary Page the line for 1,000 per day of new listings.

I am doing in bulk as SELL SIMILAR ITEMS. The system does not charge anything but it is a pain to deal with these items that are listed as UNSOLD but actually got re-listed. I am trying to place them under my own lists on My eBay and then I delete them from the UNSOLD lists.

This is because I do not want to have them still listed as UNSOLD, so I will not be tempted to do the RE-LIST functions again.

VERY EASY to make an error and to delete not relisted item.

I am working on IE as secondary (to recheck) and on CHROMO as primary to do the actual re-listing.

I found it easier to relist in groups of the same prices:  Let's say $9.99 in one group... Then it is easier to fix prices from the store items to auction items with BIN option.

I think this "new items only" policy is offered to us to generate more active search among potential buyers and observers.

I have many items that people watch for years, presumably same people. And it was very easy for them with relisting function - the system was bring the message "the seller has relisted the item".

P.S. On 5 items I made an error and by habit pressed RELIST instead of SELL SIMILAR - therefore got charged and did not notice it promptly enough to cancel.

Hope you will find efficient method to organize this promotion for your items and you will not mind to share your method.

Good luck!

Very interesting!!  I just finished relisted my unsold items 1000/1000 today.  Now I am waiting to the next day to relist more unsold items, another 1000/1000.

When you relisted any item, it will become "new listings".  It usually comes up as "new listing" after relisted them.

It seems that some get different free listings promo like no relist while other get it that can relist like myself.

Honestly it doesn't make any senses as to why eBay would send free listings promo and not for to "relist".  I wouldn't want my unsold items sitting in my inventory and then to have them disappeared after 60 days, meaning I would have to start all over too post them again, too time consuming!
