I don't seem to get any of the options mentions. I just get the page saying "pool together". Does that mean I am already upgraded?

It's a good idea to double check your browsers for updates anyways...

Re: PAYPAL Important Update: Upgrade Your Browser... IS THIS LEGIT?

Please visit our sandbox site from each of your browsers. If the page loads, you are already upgraded. If the page doesn't appear, please follow the steps below:

__________________________________________________________________________

When you click on sandbox site does the page load?

If the page loads then you are already upgraded on that browser. If the PayPal page doesn't appear then you have to follow the steps below (on the other link I provided).

Thank you, yes, the page does load, what has been throwing me off is that every time I open Paypal, it asks me to upgrade, when I thought it was already upgraded.

At least one bank posted an Online Announcement it was doing same effective June 28. Therefore, I probably wouldn't have doubted the validity.

Re: PAYPAL Important Update: Upgrade Your Browser... IS THIS LEGIT?

My browser whether Google or Mozilla has been updated.... and Windows 10 has been updated.....

I can get onto the Paypal site.... no problem.

and then came the Sandbox site....    and it said everything was ....  wrong...

Just talked to someone at Paypal.....

The word is if web browser Google and  Windows 10  are updated....  I will have no problem using Paypal...  no problem logging onto Paypal

The sandbox site is an independent site that  has no access to the Paypal site....  This Sandbox site has no way of knowing whether the email address or the password entered for Paypal is correct.

I am good to go... as stated by the person on the telephone ..... as long as Google, Firefox and Windows 10 are updated..... For me everything is updated ... automatically.....

Re: PAYPAL Important Update: Upgrade Your Browser... IS THIS LEGIT?

Did a search for Sandbox Site... and got the following.

Using the Sandbox test site

The Sandbox test site (https://www.sandbox.paypal.com) is the customer facing element of the Sandbox environment. The test site is an almost-identical instance of the live PayPal production site. With few exceptions, the behavior on the test site exactly mirrors what PayPal customers, merchants, and developers see on the live PayPal site.

Use the Sandbox test site for the following:

  • View and manage your sandbox accounts.
  • Create and test PayPal Payments Standard features:
    • Test accepting PayPal as a payment mechanism on a website.
    • Test the purchase of multiple items in a single transaction using a single payment (a shopping cart).
    • Test refunding payments from a test buyer.
    • Test subscription buttons.
  • Review notifications generated by your mock transactions, as well as the notifications generated by the IPN Simulator.

------------------------------------

Now I know...

This is a test site where someone creates a mock account... a specific sandbox account...and then tests how Paypal works.

There appears to be  no link to a real Paypal account.

--------------------------------------

This sandbox site drove me crazy for 24 hours, until I talked to someone at Paypal.

But then....  Everything was confirmed to be updated... plus my computer was "cleaned"  of many things that have accumulated over the years.  This ... clean up ....was most interesting.....
