I have a bunch of listings that I had put on 30 day duration that I have to relist. For search purposes, is it better to do relist, or sell similar?

Darn good question. With the new search, does it recognize the re-list as old news or does it treat it as new news?
My gut instinct tells me to "sell similar" and change a few words. Put some glowing, friendly words in the description. A "new" listing gets better placement?

I've always used Sell Similar on the basis that the newer a listing looks, the more attractive it is, compared to a listing that has been around for a few months or years.
But I'm not actually sure that the listing date which I see on my own listings appears to buyers..
Sell Similar does give me the opportunity to review my listing, correcting shipping types and especially, making sure that the US shipping appears in the listing. (Many of my listings have been ended and relisted after the 16 month warning and have Small Packet Surface shipping which is now obsolete.)

Thank you feemefan, that was exactly what I was thinking. It takes a bit longer than just doing a relist, but like you say, it is an opportunity to revise and check the listing. I am hoping that new listings come up nearer the top on a search.

Usually I use "Good 'till cancelled" , it will be automatically relisted by ebay system every 30 days. But now I "relist" most of my listings. However, I don't know which one is better for the search result, "Good 'till cancelled", "relist" or "sell similar".
I know if one listing with more sold record and with more welcome by buyers to save in their watch list, it will get the priority recommended by ebay. This looks better for "Good 'till cancelled".
But when I accidentally received an email reminded me my watching listing will end soon, I thought maybe my listings should have an ending date then my watchers will also receive such an email.
I'm wondering which way is the best as well, just share some experience from my side

I use sell similiar also.
Femme has already covered my reasons in her prior post.

I first began with relist. Then I made a change and tried Sell Similar. It didn't improve my sales at all. So I just relist now. Especially if there are some watchers on the item, because they will get a message that their watched item has been relisted. They don't get that notice with Sell Similar.
