Seller buying a return shipping label on ebay

Hi,

I'm a seller on .CA that needs to send a return shipping label to a CAD buyer.  Is there an option to purchase a return label through ebay or are you still required to purchase through another carrier (ie Shippo) ?  It has been a couple of years since I last purchased a return label.  The issue for me is that the item is less than 200 grams, so an Expedited Lite label through Ebay is $10.43, Shippo does not offer Expedited Lite so label through Shippo would cost me $25 (sending from Toronto to Newfoundland).

I don't accept returns, so I cannot give you any first hand info.

All the information I see in other threads mention shippo or buying a CP return label, sending to the buyer and then sending it to them, but it's not clear if the purchase is made through eBay or not.

Below is the link for the returns dashboard. Something will only show if a buyer has opened a return request. (From my understanding.) It gives you all the ways you can handle via eBay. As you note CP/Shippo do not give you access to Expedited lite so not super helpful if it can't be handled with eBay. Important to remember from buyers end they package exactly the same as you sent to them to use expedited lite and get charged properly.

Hope that gets you on your way?

Re: Seller buying a return shipping label on ebay

Thanks.   Buyer did open a claim and I had chosen to send a return label.  Below are my options, however it appears that I'm not able to purchase a label directly through ebay.

Provide a return shipping label

Purchase a return label from your preferred carrier and then share it with the buyer.

If you prefer to close this return request instead and let the buyer keep the item, you can send a refund.

Upload a label
Confirm you sent a label
Confirm you provided another way to return the item

Re: Seller buying a return shipping label on ebay

The only possible way it appears to purchase a "return" label through ebay is to go into the original listing and select "Get Another Label", then change my address to the buyer's address and change the shipping "to" address from the buyer's original address to my address.   This would allow me to purchase an Expedited Lite label on ebay that shows from the buyer's address to my address.  I'm not comfortable doing that is it seems deceptive to me and would void any seller protection.

This is only for a $15 item, normally I would just refund the buyer to close the case, however I strongly believe the buyer in this situtation is being dishonest with his return.
