Hello,
Could anyone clarify if Canadian sellers can still list on ebay.com in USD after we switch to MP?
Can we receive payout in USD either to US bank or Canadian bank with USD account?
Can we even list on ebay.com with MP or are we going to be limited to ebay.ca with listing in CAD?
What should sellers do who have a bunch of listings on ebay.com listed in USD?
I did call ebay support seeking answers to these questions and reply I received was rather vague, but overall it seems like we may be limited to selling on ebay.ca in CAD only after the switch is made to managed payments.
Maybe Tyler@ebay could provide more information on this topic.

We tried using our RBCBank account, but we were not able to use it.
(RBCBank is an American bank that is affiliated with the Royal Bank. It is not closed to private users, in fact most of the advertising I've seen is aimed at snowbirds.)

I decided to get the verification process done at the end of June 2021. Three months later I am still not verified and on hold with ebay once again while typing this. The entire nightmare started when I was told a week after filling in my bank info that the screenshot of the cheque I sent in was fuzzy. Since I am a graphic artist and send screenshots all the time I was surprized. I asked how to send another screenshot, that turned into a different problem, but eventually I was able to send another one. I never heard back about this second attempt, next they wanted a statement. I sent a copy of the statement my bank lists online, this wasn't good enough, beause it didn't have all the info they required. I don't get statements sent to me for this acount, but had my bank send it with all the pertinent info. Never heard back what was wrong this time. Next I was supposed to send my debit card number and password to them, which I refused to do. I was told many other reasons why my verification failed including, it's Canada's fault, it's your browser, you need to use another bank account, I used my business info and was told that I had a personal account so that didn't work, nobody told me this and nowhere is this mentioned, next I was told I should have typed in the Swift Code and Routing number, I wasted a week on that nonsense, there is nowhere to type this information when you fill in the verification form, then I was told that I needed to send in the microdeposits, I acutally had someone in Managed Payments tell me to type in the deposits which is not how that works, I was of course kicked off for trying too often - twice. I have now verified my banking information at least 24 times. I refuse to do it any more because that isn't going to help. Every time I do it I get an email telling me that I have been accepted and that my payouts are on their way. I have not seen a dime for any of my sales since July 12th. I have gone through the verification, had my bank call and send a code, entered it and was accepted and saw an email I had never seen before that said I was 'all set' to receive payments. That never happened. I have already spent more than two hours calling ebay just today. I was transfered to Managed Payments and then to a supervisor - the phone just rang, nobody pick it up. More of ebay's incompetence. Today I was told that I needed to open a US account. This wasn't the first time. I called my bank and the head office in Toronto and that is **bleep** they tell me. If this was the case then if I received money from Germany I would need a German account, or money from Japan a Japanese account. Total **bleep**. My bank tells me that no matter which denomination comes in, it is converted to Canadian funds. I don't see why I should open an account I don't want, or need and pay monthly fees for it. The option I was given today was that I could close my store and start again. That would solve the problem of me having chosen to be paid in US funds. Apparently I did that when I filled in the verification form. Really? The only questions on that form are my bank info and choose personal or business account. Nothing else. So if I were to close my store after 16 years I would lose the money from three months of sales and I would have to list my almost four hundred items all over again, the past 16 years of excellent feedback would be lost. Doesn't sound fair to me. I have a job, I don't have time for any of this, much less get angry and upset every day. This is not customer service. Just got through to someone and asked to be transfered to a team leader or a supervisor and he ended up asking me why, so I told him and he hung up. More incompetence. By the way, you can't complain about bad treatment from ebay employees, there is no way to do that. I called again and 'am on hold once more. By the way, if I were to close my account I would also not get paid, apparently ebay can only refund buyers not sellers who can't get verified through their stupid system. I have been told that my money would go to the 'government' and I could contact them to get paid. What a joke!

I don't list on .com for that reason though. I can use the US$ and selling and receiving US$ into my bank account works very well.
I would think that having a buyer that is willing to have an item shipped from Canada is much more important than the listing currency since the listing price is convereted and presented to them in US$. All things being equal, it comes down to the all in price with shipping.

I had to call ebay again today because after speaking to several people yesterday to get a return call from a team leader or supervisor I came up with nothing. I spoke to several people, was transfered eventually to managed payments and then transfered to a team leader who never answered the ringing phone. I called back, was on hold, had to explain again and waited. Today I received an email from a possible team leader or supervisor basically saying that my phone number on file is not working, the same phone number their company has been calling for more than three months, to not help me get my account verified. I just asked for a return call again because after being on hold I had someone on the line whom I could not hear, there was a lot of interferance on the line. I was put on hold and the problem was the same. I was told I'd get a callback, always a bad sign, sure enough nobody called me back. When I first spoke to this woman I asked her to take down my phone number but she never did, I gave it to her just before she hung up. She eventually called me back with the same line, I checked off that I wanted to be paid in US funds when I verified the account. Not true. There is nowhere to enter that info, just the bank account and personal or business account. I have also been told that I never entered the swift code or routing number, there is nowhere to enter that either because you don't need to do this. I have also been told that I didn't enter the mircrodeposits, also wrong, we have nothing to do with entering them. I also had an email thanking me for entering the microdeposits and I was now going to receive payout, that wasn't true either, and I still after three months, have not received a dime for my sales, yet ebay has taken there cut and I still have to pay my ebay fees. If they really wanted to help me they would have sent me a screenshot where I asked to be paid in US funds and if that is the problem then change it to Canadian, which they refuse to do, apparently, I learned to day, that change can't be made for 12 months. Yesterday I was told this change could never been made. Useless ebay employee training at it's best! So ebay has no problem inconveniencing all their Canadian customers by making them open US accounts when there is no need to do this. I do not need a German account to received German marks, or a Japanese account to receive Japanese yen. Paypal has never had a problem sending me my US funds. I HAD EBAY FOR NOT GIVING A **bleep** ABOUT HELPING THEIR CUSTOMERS! They are perfectly comfortable with giving us the same talking points that blame us for their mistakes and then leave it without a resolution. EBAY YOU MAKE ME SICK!
