Is anyone aware of how to send a customized message to buyers as they pay? In reviewing Communication with Buyers in settings the link does not work on ca. Works okay on com. I was able to locate this link * but there is no option to modify messages. Just on or off. It may have been something that poofed back when MP was released.
Link for communicating with buyers: https://contact.ca.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ManageBuyerCommunication&ssPageName=STRK:ME:LNLK
* https://www.ebay.ca/cnt/ManageSellerFAQ
More Q & A customization is coming to eBay in the "future". Announced on com late last month. Nothing about it on ca. Customizable messages would be helpful in situations like this tentative, who knows when or if mail strike.

How about leaving FB on shipment like "Shipped 12/11/24 Canada Post Tracked Packet USA. Be aware that current labour disputes may slow delivery."
At least this puts your date of shipment on public view, should the buyer leave neutral or negative FB in future.
And mostly we want to get the shipment across the border.
Easier for me on Vancouver Island, a ferry ride from the International Transit plant in Richmond, than for Albertan sellers whose shipments would I suppose either be heading to BC or MB first.

My personal preference is to not leave FB until an item is either about to arrive or has arrived. In the past you were able to customize several messages to buyers. That appears to be no longer the case on ca. Another example of changing how a system works on dot com and then forgetting to make the same change on ca. (Breaking links by not testing before implementation.) Even the concept of messages from buyers when they have paid can be very easy to miss when packing an order. On many other shopping sites there is a place for a buyer to include custom shipping instructions....Put parcel between door/ring bell. Now, if there is room the only place as part of their delivery address.

I'm old school.
If I need notes like that, I write them on the package, with a felt pen.
The carrier is more likely to actually see that in my opinion than a note that is part of the address label- same tiny font etc.

Old school also. UPS is very bad at not reading customer notes or even a note in big black letters taped to your front door. Having that info can be very important for Apt. complexes/condos vs driver thinking...hey, what the heck. Lets leave in lobby so anyone can help themselves. MAIN reason why buyers check tracking religiously. Strangely custom notes with eBay labels only shows on the scanner. It does not print to label. Writing on the parcel is the next best thing.
