On the 4th of June, a guy purchased a computer fan from me. The next day, on the 5th, i sent it to him via Canada Post (my local courier). I only charged $12CAD for shipping so it was sent by Small Packet Ground (which i imagine is by boat), which takes 4-6 weeks to reach the buyers country (France). Post Canada does not offer tracking when shipped by small packet ground and that's was the cheapest option to ship the item. Less than three weeks after the item was sent, the buyer opened a case directly with paypal (never contacted me or anything) to ask for a full refund. His reasoning was that i, the seller, did not ship the item... I have the receipt which i showed him AND payal the pictures off of and even offered paypal to send it to them for proof. All they were asking is a tracking number and there's absolutely no way of proving anything with those folks unless you have a tracking number. The item was fully refunded to the buyer, i lost ~$40CAD for the item and shipping and the guy left a negative feedback on my account as if i've never shipped the item.

How ridiculous is that? I answered every message the buyer sent me. Offered proof that the item was shipped (clear pictures of the receipt showing his address etc) and he simply opens a case prior to 4 weeks (which is the minimal amount of time for the item to reach the buyer), gets a full refund and leaves a false negative feedback *which i'm actually trying hard to keep at 100%*?

I contact Ebay and they're telling me the same thing Paypal did, without tracking we can't do anything for you. What is the receipt for? In what kind of business a receipt isn't proof of purchase or sending an item in my case? Then i ask them how is it that this impatient buyer is able to leave false negative feedback on my account? They told me its fair for the ebay community and they're unable to remove it... I lost my item, money and have a false feedback on my account. Why is this acceptable for a seller who had a perfect account ever since i made it over a year ago? Where is the **bleep** seller protection, Ebay? Absolutely disgusting.

For those selling from Canada, how do you offer international tracking ( when shipped outside of US)? Prices are absolutely ridiculous and it wouldn't make much sense selling an item worth $10 and charge $47 for shipping. For example, i just sold an item worth $20, weighting 36 grams and shipped in a tiny box. The cheapest tracked international (buyer was from Spain) option was with Canada Post and they were charging $45. Kinda crazy if you ask me. Shipping is so much easier from the US.

For low value items I don't.

I tend to go with small packet international air -- which does have a bar code that you can get an originate scan for when you mail it. I always get a scan so I can show it to a buyer if they ask.

International Small Packet (Air) to Europe

000g-250g -- $ 9.98

251g-500g -- $19.55

501g-1kg -- $38.44

So, i have mentioned the fact that there's "paypal" mention and it looks like they've deleted the comment but the negative feedback is still present and undeleted... Other than sending the buyer 1 message every week in hope of getting the confirmation of the item arrival (also wish he doesn't lie and say "it didn't arrive" when/if it did), i'm not sure what to do next. Sent him a message yesterday, still no no replies.

There is nothing you can do at this point. There is nothing wrong with asking the buyer once to let you know when they have received the item.  If they are honest, they will let you know.  If they are dishonest they are not going to tell you whether you ask once or every week.  But if you keep asking, even an honest buyer might get po'd and not ever tell you.
