Title vs Description -- what if there was a typo in the title?

A buyer bought an item having only read the title -- they didn't look through the listing pics or the listing description. And didn't ask any questions before bidding.

However, there was a typo in the title. The text under the "Description" details the item correctly, and the pics show the correct item -- the pics match the "Description" and they match the pic of the item delivered to the buyer (but they don't match the listing title, due to the typo).

In a case like this, where there was a typo in the listing "Title", but the "Description" lists the correct details and the pics in the listing show the actual item.... Can the buyer demand a full refund?

They aren't willing to accept a partial refund. The item delivered to them match the pics and the "Description", but does the item have to match 100% to the everything in the listing (text, title, photo..)?

How are cases, like this one, where there's a discrepancy between the "Title" and "Description" handled??

Re: Title vs Description -- what if there was a typo in the title?

Yes.

The seller is responsible for the accuracy of the whole listing.

Including the title.

Including the pictures.

Including the description.

Including the shipping information.

Seller is responsible for making the buyer "whole".

If you have a No Returns policy, that is allowable, but No Returns does NOT mean No Refunds.

You can however demand the return of the purchase, even with a No Returns policy, before refunding.

But you must refund.

The only question is who pays for the return shipping.

If the customer is in Canada, no problem to send a jpeg of a shipping label.

If the customer is in the USA, it is possible to send a USPS return shipping label using Shippo.

But you are responsible for the error and you have to fix it.

If you refuse to refund within a Dispute, the buyer wins the dispute, eBay refunds them, eBay gives you a Defect (which is in the long run more expensive than return shipping), eBay takes their refund from your account, and the buyer can leave feedback.

Re: Title vs Description -- what if there was a typo in the title?

Yes unfortunately you as the seller,, in the end are responsible for the entire listing,  If the title doesn't match the listing, and the buyer isn't happy,,

Keep in mind most buyer's don't read the item descriptions, most are buying on their phones, where they can't read much, or choose not to read..

Long story short, if the buyer isn't happy you need to accept a return, or face the chances that the buyer may end of with your item , and a full refund..
