USPS Shipping Delays in US

Any sellers experiencing shipping delays to US destinations?

My particular case, I have a package, last update on Mar 12 was:

'in transit arriving late" from Bell Gardens US

No further updates since then (today is the 21rst) Final destination is Puerto Rico.

I check weather advisories in the area and Puerto Rico, there are none.  Possibly issues at another transit hub or maybe Trump policies?

Anyone else experiencing this?

Re: USPS Shipping Delays in US

I have a domestic shipment sent nearly three weeks ago that the (repeat) buyer is asking about. I'm in BC and he is in NS.
No problems with USPS shipments.

I noticed that when I use the Canada Post Tracked Packet USA label, that it defaults to Canada as place of origin on the form.

Worth making sure that the origin is correct , in case there are tariffs the day it passes US Customs.

Re: USPS Shipping Delays in US

I've been temporary holding off on my listings while some of this stuff gets worked out but just wanted to suggest going to the actual USPS site and plugging in the tracking number there. I've done this several times in the past with items that had longer than usual delays. I found they were often ahead of what is showing on eBay's site or app and Canada Post's site.

When I've been worrying about a late item I take advantage of "getting updates" which is right there on the USPS site. You will get an email if there is any activity at all (good or bad). I know in the past requesting the updates was magically all it took to suddenly see some activity (coincidence maybe??), things may of course be different now with the tarriff caused delays but at least knowing you get updates sent to you might stop you from frequently checking on status (and driving yourself crazy)!

Re: USPS Shipping Delays in US

Thanks for the post...I have been following the tracking on both CP & USPS website and you are correct, the USPS website is slightly ahead.  Mar 8 entry has CP with " Item processing Bell Garden USA" while USPS has a Mar 12th next entry, transiting from Bell Gardens.   I've just subscribed to email updates, thanks for the sugestion, let's see if it starts moving now.

My latest sales have been to buyers in Canada. No issues with CP shipping. If anything, they've been delivered in record time.

No problem, I know for myself (even if just psychologicaly) seeing even one or two new entries temporary helps! Hope it gets there soon.

wow, that's quite a tracking history.   You must have written that off until BAM-O, delivered.

i've had problems too every time a package of mine goes through the Indianapolis facility.  Nothing like what you experienced but usually a week of the package just sitting there like a dead thing.

Exactly, I had to send a replacement (fortunately, I had one more of a similar item).

@elviszz

Unsure of the why, but just that it is. Initiate/open a track on "delayed" item and magically it gets delivered the next day or very quickly. But as @msau4301  stated signing up for the alerts at both cp and usps, etc never hurts. Especially if you have an antsy customer. Made difficult that we (sellers) do not have access to a REAL email address that works outside of eBay. I will even suggest that they sign up for those alerts. Many are unaware that they can. Have also seen on several occasions where items have gone out for delivery and either business was closed or system overload for driver and item shows out for delivery  the following day but no delivered scan. I still have 1 from Jan in that state. Confirmed with receiver and they were able to advise that item was delivered. Scans just get missed for an assortment of reasons.

As a side my US items were PTI (Pre Tariff Insanity) getting to LA from Calgary in 3 to 4 days. Now average is closer to 4-6 days and a bit longer for handling/processing before they go on their merry way.

In the strange observation department, checking transit time on both ca for my own listings delivery estimate is missing for shipping to USA when you offer multiple shipping options. Just shows varies vs eBay's estimate for all services offered. Customs note also gets removed(tossed to curb).

Shipping:
Will ship to United States. Read item description or contact seller for shipping options. See detailsfor shipping
Located in: Calgary, AB, Canada
Delivery:
Varies

When checking using a different Canadian seller transit time displays as per below with a single shipping option: Note: Changing zip code displays identical estimate

Shipping:
C $9.04 Canada Post Tracked Packet - USA. See detailsfor shipping

International shipment of items may be subject to customs processing and additional charges.
Located in: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Delivery:
Estimated between Mon, Mar 31 and Fri, Apr 4 to 90210
Please allow additional time if international delivery is subject to customs processing.

One would hope buyers would see uniform warning messages across the board, not dependent of the site they are using.
