It looks like more unnecessary streamlining to the listing page by eBay.
From my perspective it will missed.....

Wonder what the rationale is, I always felt it was a good indication of interest from buyers.

Totally agree along with the watchers being shown on the listings. Could it have anything to do with the limitations of the mobile market?

I've never felt it to be very useful, but it was something of a morale builder for many.
There is a place for 'warm fuzzies' in business. Like giving buyers tracking numbers. Not much they can do with them, but it feels good.

My guess is their trying to emulate the big A with a more generic look!

The mobile view still has watchers but 5 or more like the desktop view.
It's really unfortunate that they've stripped the listing page from all the options I liked.....
First the "print" option (many years ago) then limiting watchers to 5, then deleting "see other items" link from the sellers listing page and finally the view counter.... sad!

Correction: the mobile view has watchers from 1-? while the desktop view only has 5 or more.

Perhaps a glitch because they are back, at least for me...for now.

The view counts keep appearing and then disappearing. As an example when I click on my active listings under the view/watchers column one of my listings shows 8/3, ie 8 views and 3 watchers. When I leave and go to another page and then come back it shows --/3, ie views have disappeared but the watchers are still there.
Now if I actually click on the listing the page only shows duration & start time but no view count which used to appear at the top of the listing along with the duration/start time.
I just wish we were kept in the loop if any decisions or work is being done behind the scenes.
Personally I like the views/watchers just from a stat/number perspective for my own internal use.

In order to be successful, we must know if anyone is actually looking at our listings. How can we possibly create a sales strategy, if we don't know we even have views? It's as if whoever is in charge changes direction every 5 mins. Ask any brick and mortar store how they plan purchasing, sales, staffing etc. They MUST know the customer/view count from the month previous in order to plan ahead. In my career as a store manager, at the end of the day when ringing off, after the days total sales, the second most important #, the accountant needed, was the customer count. There are similarities between Main street and ecommerce, knowing the customer/view traffic is a very useful tool. It's not enough to look at your site and wonder if anything sold. As one op here called it "warm and fuzzies". Without all the information, I feel a "deep freeze" coming on.

For seller hub you just click on listings then you can see all your views and watcher data.

I'm quite surprised that some sellers are not aware that that information has been available on your selling pages for years.

For sellers still using selling manager that don't see views and watchers on their active listings page:
Go to active listings, click on customize on the right side and check off the options that you want the page to show.

i am using seller hub, and most of the listings are all zero out, even when i click on watchers, which is 73, it brings up those listings with watchers, but shows zero views. when i click on customize page, the show views, and watchers are highlighted..

I want to see views and watchers on the listing page.... It's a visual thing, and more stimulating.
I don't want to see it from a generic active listing chart perspective.

Since according to ebay many of my listings are too old. Many were made on the old selling form which did offer us the choice as whether we wanted a counter on the listing or not. They even gave a choice of at lease two different designs.
Yes I do use the numbers shown to let me know whether I should revise the listing. I also know the numbers can be "off", as one of my listings had almost 2000 views in a very short period of time. I did have a good laugh over it, but by and large for those of us without a store, we have to take any metrics help we can get.
Out of curiosity, please check a couple of my listings to see what is shown as far as views and watchers.
Dreamcast Banner-Shows 1212 views at the top, and a counter near the bottom, has 14 watchers-not shown on listing with desktop.
Black AMC/JEEP Mud Flaps-247 views top and bottom. has 10 watchers not shown on desktop.
Hoyle Casino-589 views top and bottom, has 5 watchers not shown on DT.
Most of my newer listings do not have a counter because ebay does not have the option to provide one. On the selling page on My ebay I can see views and watchers no problem at all, although there has been times lately, when some were missing the views, and it can't be a glitch because this is ebay we are talking about. Right?
Maybe it shows my age, but I do seem to remember a time when Auctiva used to have a counter on their scrolling screen. I might be wrong, as so much has changed over the years since then.
Man, do I miss Pierre with his sage advice, just wondering whether any of this would have been an interest of his.

That's a current problem as the counters don't seem to be working properly. I only have a few with dashes on selling manger but I have no idea if the other numbers are accurate or not.
