Just wondering if I am having bad luck
I've only shipped 2 tracked parcels since Monday
The first one was shipped on Monday Oct. 22 the first day of the rotating strikes, and the places that were on strike should not have affected my shipment. It should have been scanned at Missisauga that evening and then gone out for delivery the next day. So far I have not seen the Missisauga scan, and the delivery date has been changed on the tracking page to Oct. 31 for a parcel that should have been at its destination today at the latest. Normally it would have been there yesterday.
The other parcel was not eBay related, but a Free Shipping Tuesday item that I sent to a friend. It was shipped Oct. 23 and was just going a few miles and tracking said it was delivered this morning on schedule BUT my friend did not receive the parcel or any notice of attempted delivery. She has looked and asked around, but nothing is there.
So, from my experience 100% failure on a very small sampling, I have to wonder if there is more going on at Canada Post than just Rotating Strikes. Up until now I have never had an issue, and now all of a sudden 2 in a row. I hate to think where my lettermail shipments have ended up.
How is everyone else doing?

So far so good. I've sent out about 20 tracked packages in Canada this week (expedited or xpresspost) and all but one has yet to show up on time (the one that is delayed in going to BC and just shows in Transit after hitting our mail hub - I'm guessing / hoping that one of the strike locations out west from this week is what is delaying this item ). I'm just outside of Ottawa so luckily we haven't been hit with a strike day directly in our area yet. All my tracked US packages go to Ottawa and cross over to the US from Quebec and they've all been moving just as they normally do.

I'm seeing no noticeable impact on delivery times with my tracked parcels within Canada nor with the ones who stay within Canada only long enough to clear Customs.
If anything, my sales performance has gone from lower than normal through the month of October to higher than normal since the rotating strikes began. Either it's pure coincidence, or people are ordering their holiday toys early to guarantee they don't get delayed past when they need them or stuck along the way if it gets worse.

My package that's cleared customs on the 24th hasn't been updated since. It was delayed 3 times, now the estimate is for tuesday delivery. It's strange as they haven't even processed the package at the mississauga plant.

I have my package mailed on Monday Oct 22 from Manitoba to USA and it is STILL in Winnipeg as of this date October 28, so is other 5 packages since then. Guess everything stand still even it is just a rotating. Guess employees of Canada Post are mad and don't want to move things as revenge?? Shame!!

I forgot to add it is Expedited and the others are Tracked Packets. I have one package to be sent by XpressPost tomorrow, wait and see how it goes.

I'm copying this from the other thread, but I've had quite positive responses to these messages. I always send a message to buyers advising stamps are on their way. I've updated them to include stuff around the strike. So far I've only received positive responses back, and I'm getting more responses than normal.
This is copied from the other thread....
Here are my upgraded contact messages.

Good point. I had stopped adding packing slips to orders earlier this year but now that Winnipeg is on rotating strike and there is every likelihood that my outbound parcels will, in fact, become delayed where they had not before, I should begin to place a note in those orders being sent. I have three to take to the postal counter tomorrow.....

These are purchases of mine, so I'm learning to be patient. Grrrrr.

I thought Winnipeg was on strike? My four parcels to the USA which I took to the postal counter over the weekend still processed at 1 am today which is, I guess, another business day later than when they would normally be sorted at 9 pm or so the same business day of shipment which in this case would be considered Monday night (instead of Tuesday morning) because they were mailed on the weekend. But who picked them up if the union was on strike to take them to the processing plant? Surely that didn't start at midnight. The guys are usually out on trucks that whole weekday day doing pickups to process in the evening.
I'm confused. In order for my parcels to be moving by 1 am today, who transported them and when? It would have HAD to be done yesterday, no? Winnipeg was on strike from evening Sunday for 24 hours, I thought it was 48-hour rotating strikes being held now. Are managers driving trucks and processing the mail? That seems like it would be logistically impossible.

Anyway, I don't understand.
But I have three outbound domestic parcels being sent today: one to BC and another to Saskatchewan and one to Ontario so we'll see what happens there.

Was. Not on this morning's CUPW list.
You mail from a postal outlet, post office or red box?
Pick up from a postal outlet might be a non-union subcontract.

eBay tracking does not seem to be working properly (for me) so it might be a good idea to plug the tracking number into the CP site
On eBay Tracking my parcel appeared to be stuck IN TRANSIT which seemed very odd, so I plugged the number into Canada Post Tracking site and saw that delivery had been attempted and the parcel was at the Post Office waiting for Pickup. I see that the notes have been updated today, but the graph still shows In Transit. In any case the eBay tracking was way behind what Canada Post
