Which bank choose for eBay activities

I'm looking to open an account specifically for my ebay/buying/selling activities. I'd like to hear about the best choices as canadian selling on the .CA. I'm noob on this.

I was learning about tangerine and randomly found out that there is problems with it now on ebay. I'm concerned about choosing a bank not working. It's weird ebay wants to manage payments, but they don't fix issues like this. Tangerine is bank scotia, and bank scotia is the 2nd biggest bank in canada.

Does online banks such as simplii is really a good option? How do they allow free accounts? Is there any hidden fees or something.

I need to be able to link ebay, my paypal, do unlimited transactions, and transfer to other bank accounts. Basically.

I'm a bit lost in my choice as i runned with the same bank and the same account for my entire life until now.

Any advice is welcome.

Hello rocket

I opened a standard chequing account at TD, and kept a minimum amount (around 4K if I remember correctly) so that all transaction are free.  Once opened and linked to EBAY, I altered the EBAY charges to only charge my credit card.  The transactions work great, it is easy to transfer funds and pay for the business related stuff like shipping (it is all kept separate from personal finance). Also, the credit card gives you options if there is "difficulty" with unwarranted funds being charged (I have had no issues but am prepared none the less).  I personally do not think online banks are a good option, I have dealt with them in the past and have found their customer service less helpful than expected.

Sincerely

Sparx

Is there a complete list of approved/acceptable banks that eBay in Canada located anywhere in help? There was nothing I could find. This would be very useful vs choosing and opening up a new bank account and then finding out it won't work.

Has eBay figured out why Tangerine was acceptable at first but now no longer works for anyone who signs up with them going forward?

Have you looked into Desjardins?  I believe Caisse populaires and major credit unions work with managed payments.  The system seemed to recognize my credit union when I tried setting up MP without having any sales going, but it stalled at the microdeposits stage because I was trying to attach a US dollar account.

I bank at TD, moving to MP with my chequing account was no problem and so far I have not had any problems at all. Hopefully saying this doesn't curse me!!!

Not having had a personal banking account for decades(joint account for past 50 years), chose to open a Basic chequing account at Scotiabank...(no monthly fees for seniors, no minimum balance, etc). It was easy to set up this account and all has been going well for the past 2 years.
