Hello eBay users
I feel we need to let eBay know that their claims to save us money and require us to start eBay managed payments was an unfair business decision that hurts many sellers.
To start with the glaring issue that needs to be addressed immediately is for eBay to get off its ass and get a shipping arrangement with Netshipping the exact same as Paypal did.
EBay totally dropped the ball on this and set sellers up for failure, lost revenue, shipping issues taking chances not using tracked shipping for lower priced items, while trying to maximize profits for shareholders but as members, and as a share holder who are considering selling shares as this is not how to treat your clients. eBay is nothing without members who are willing and able to sell competitively but forcing Canadian sellers to use Canada Post as the solution and compete with other countries is destined to hurt a lot of Canadian sellers.
eBay needs to get this set-up with Net shipping if they want to discuss money saving benefits as the Shippo program they link you too actually costs you money to use and YOU have to have an account set up with couriours etc. UPS is not offering regular customers 75% off, but the major player eBay can get sellers this same offer I am sure. They just need to be let known sellers are not happy at all about this.
AS a side issue, I personally liked leaving my money in my account at Paypal as then when I wanted to buy something as a treat or whatever it was like it was free. The forced payouts every week I know will cause me to carefully consider whether I need that item or not as coming from my bank (even though it was previously deposited) is different than just clicking the pay now button through paypal acount. Anyone else do this also and will be considering purchases more carefully because of this small change? Actually this is a puzzler anyway as I think eBay would love the money sitting in their accounts and gathering interest instead of paying out millions and millions weekly.
I would love comments and thoughts from other sellers.
Thank you

It wasn't much of an issue w/ PayPal previously, as I would use the funds to pay for online purchases, and deposit the remainder to my Cdn Savings account. So ultimately now, I'd likely be transferring the funds from the USD account to my CDN one, hoping that way the fees would be less hopefully...

I think at the moment dotCA fees are slightly lower than dotCOM fees, but dotCOM allows more "free" listings.
The main point would be to reduce the number of currency exchanges we do.

Prior to MP with PayPal I never had to worry about any extra bank fees. I just used available funds in PayPal. Easy Peazy!!!
Now with MP I have to watch. May Bank fees $1.25 x 5 = $6.25 because of transfers from banking to PayPal to cover postage. It takes 8 business days to move funds to PayPal but only a day or 2 to pull funds. Thanks MP!!!

I'm not sure how "big" you are, but XE Trade will convert:
US$ from a US based bank account into your $C account
US$ from a Canadian based bank account into your $C account (even with the same bank)
(don't ask them to pull from PAYPAL they won't do that)
Their exchange fee is around .75 of a percent, much better than the banks 3%ish (or anything else for that matter).
I have both set up because I have both and they work fine and have saved me $1000s of $.
Note that getting the accounts set up is usually a pain but once they are working it goes smoothly (it does usually take about a week from when you start the process until the converted $$$ are in your account).

Thanks for the tip.
When I get my MP account set up, I will be careful that the new bank account does not charge for transfers.

I'm not sure where you are located but check into Credit Unions in your area. I knowat our local CU they offer an online only account that has 0 fees and unlimited transactions for any online or digitial interpersonal transactions. You can still transfer deposited funds to another bank account etc. also at no charge.
