You guys sure have some patience I applaud you all. I should have purchased the car with the $3 shipping when it was up. That would have been a lesson in pricing your items properly after it was sent.

You know what is funny? It tells me if I sign up now I can get to save 36% on domestic shipping and 47% on international shipping.

Were you aware of that or is it something new? or is it just a local offer?

trying to but many things are confusing. I learn best by seeing things in practice not so much reading.

or something for parts. Or something to play with. Not everything is collectible. But many are playable. But any particular person's opinion about my or anyone else's items is not the point here. The point was another and it changed in the middle. Because someone mentioned my items. While I was talking about my limits. Then we went to my items and then to Canada post. We killed the subject completely.

What is 'it'?

Canada Post does have a Small Business Solutions card. You can get one at the PO or online at the website. It offers discounts on many services.

Once you have that card, you can register for Shippo which also offers discounts, some of them larger  than Canada Post offers.

"...or something for parts."

Unless you own a riveting gun and special, specific tools, diecast cars cannot be disassembled at home for repair. And anyone skilled enough to repair them likely has a collection of tens of thousands of diecast cars already from which to choose. They won't come to ebay for that. It's not like, say, selling a popular but no-longer-in-production vacuum cleaner where there might be a market for parts or even third-party manufacturers that do this.

You'd have more luck selling used socks than a diecast car for parts.

How are you planning to package and mail that VHS tape that sold?

NO.

How are you planning to package it for shipment. Box? What kind. Bubble wrap? You have packing tape? You cannot use Scotch tape. And you have a printer at home? Or...?

Yes, ship without the payment but try to find the most expensive method of doing so. Look for an option on the 'Find a Rate' page on Canada Post website that requires signature confirmation, or something similar. And make your payment there. Good luck.  They may accept cheques, I forget.

Just kidding.

Don't ever ship anything prior to receiving payment. I suspect that you know this already and are actually here for some other reason. But do what you like, if you won't follow any suggestions previously made.

Good luck, and you're bound to learn something soon!

From memory, that would be Signature, Unpackaged and COD.

Off-side, I think the ladies who work at my postal counter would stab with a pen anyone who bought the Unpackaged service, paid or not.

the tapes are sealed in their own box. I will wrap them with a bunch of bubble wrap. And heck no I am not putting them in a bubble envelope they can rip it appart. I will take them to the post office and get a box there. I think I am going to need their help for my first package. So I know how to do myself on the next package. And no I have duct tape if that won't do what do you suggest? and no printer. I will go to the library for that. If you have any tips regarding packing. Feel free to add them. And thanks for your patience.

Also, post office boxes are very expensive. If you were an avid online shopper, you’d have a collection started. Bubblewrap is good. Duct tape is not. You need a roll of packaging tape. Without a home printer, you can’t buy online postage, and therefore you will lose your eBay/Shippo discount. It may be in your best interests to figure out how to print your own labels. Also, you need a Solutions for Small Business account to be eligible for Expedited Parcel which is cheaper and faster that Regular Parcel and insured.

Yes. Unpackaged means you hand them your item and pay them to package it for you. I would not suggest this is a good investment. Unless in extremely rare circumstances where the item was fragile. Even then, I am confident that I could pack six raw eggs better than any counter staff.

"Without a home printer, you can’t buy online postage" what difference does it make if I print it at the library? they have computers there too. I could do there online and print the label. why not?
