perhaps there is a specific reason for the limit...

You can only request an increase in listing limits once per 30 day period...

 "limit in selling when i sell something should allow me to then list new items"....

NO, it does not work that way....

sold items count as part of the listing limits  and that is just the way it is...

Patience is your friend ....so you will just have to wait it out...

What is very strange about all this is the OP was fine until they weren't and listings suddenly got magically ended. Then reinstated. Then ended again. The system, if the seller was at their limit would start blocking each new listing as such. Their hub page would/should clearly express where they sit. I know mine does. And if you go over your limit based on your store limits you would be billed. (Important to remember limits are category based. Unsure of the exact mix for the seller.) As for the reasoning in all this anyone they spoke to with CS should have stated WHAT the problem was or is. If the seller is selling regularly they shouldn't be penalized for it. If they had strikes etc for cancelling orders or non delivery. Very likely they would be. Something else is going on here behind the scenes.

Just a theory

I wonder if all your defects or as you call them "bad boy points" became an issue. Ebay ended your listings becasue they put a selling limit on your account and you then had to many items listed based on your new limit?? (aka you can only have x amount of items listed or x dollar value per month). I can't see my selling limit but it should be on your Overview page I believe and tell you how many items or $ amount you can have listed per month. Mine has never showed up on my account for the past like 8 years but it was like 2Million a while ago lol.

Not sure if having a lot of seller defects like OP seems to have had issues with can casue a limit decrease? Just a theory. I would suggest checking what your limits are and maybe that could indicate soemthing. Maybe someone can tell you where to look exactly if you cant find it, but I cant see mine so not sure how to help exactly. But if it is the selling limit do let us know as that would be interesting

Here is the article on the ebay site, and kind of sounds like your issue this month

https://export.ebay.com/en/listings/limits/selling-limits/#selling_limit

Selling limit

All eBay sellers have a certain selling limit. It means that during the calendar month you can list and/or sell up to a certain number of items for a total of a certain amount.

Selling limits are unique for each selling account. Factors that may cause differing limits for each account include:

  • The age of an account;
  • Confirmation of identity on an account;
  • An account’s link to an established account;
  • An account’s registered address;
  • Site of registration;
  • Selling performance and behaviours; - THIS ONE
  • The volume an account has managed in the past;
  • The risk associated with the types of items listed on an account.

Unless different accounts have identical information for the criteria listed above, then they will likely have different selling limits.

  • Each item of your active and sold listings is counted toward your monthly limit.
  • If you have at least one active listing by the end of the month, items in it will be taken into account in the selling limit for the next month.
  • If you have reached your selling limit per a calendar month, you will not be able to create additional listings, raise prices, or add items to your listing till one of the active listings ends, or till the first day of the next calendar month.
  • Good 'Til Cancelled listings count toward your selling limits; these won't renew automatically if you've reached the maximum amount you can list.

To see what is your eBay selling limit:

  • In My eBay:
    1.
    Go to My eBay Selling Overview.
    2. Scroll down and find the Monthly selling limits.

  • In Seller Hub:
    1. Go to the Overview tab.
    2. Scroll down and find the Monthly limits.

eBay will review your account every month and adjust the limits automatically based on your sales volume and the feedback you've received from buyers.

Please remember that you can’t increase your selling limit by purchasing a Store subscription package.

If you've reached your monthly selling limit, you can request a limit increase and eBay will consider it.

To request a limit increase:

  • In My eBay:
    1.
    Go to My eBay Selling Overview.
    2. Scroll down and find the Monthly selling limits.
    3. Click the link Request a limit increase.

  • In Seller Hub:
    1. Go to the Overview tab.
    2. Scroll down and find the Monthly limits.
    3. Click the link Request to list more.

  • Use the quick link here or from the message eBay will send you to let you know when you get close to your monthly limit.

Then follow the on-screen instructions. Keep in mind that when you request a limit increase, eBay may need more information such as contact or business details.

listing new items limit for month reached now what

everyone thank-you for your input for what i can gather from you all is that i just have to take my  lumps and move on and wait till next month where they will  be given a increase of less than 10 % which iam told is average so about 100 more listings --now that i understand selling means nothing to your overall account  when the hammer is brought down it is brought down to punish so i will take my lumps  having only 6 defects in last 8 months seems unduly unfair -- but as many have said here - you got into this mess trying to help clients out cancel items or minor mistakes clicking wrong boxes  and now you have learned your lesson

and the game goes on till i can get all my listings back   thanks everyone for the advice it makes going throught the day with this depression because of this a little less painful

ps. i have stopped promo listing all together and have dicaounted my items over  50 % from my low selling prices just get sales moving again

You are restricted because of your bad ratings. Which is logical. System notice you are not able to handle so restrict you to fix your selling pratices.

I run with only around 500 items on my selling account and i got a 1 million items / 1 million dollars limit (never request increases).

having only 6 defects in last 8 months

This is not 'only', this is a insane high number of defects.
