well, i can't explain the why --but i have kept records that show -- my sales like this -- day one - no sales-day two one sale-- day three two sales -- day four one sale - day five no sale -day six no sale - day seven one week a sale -next week no sale -
this is accurate for about 14 months of data and to about 3 % accurate week in and out
i had about 2500 listings 6 months ago and went to zero listings just before dec.2021--- listings are now about 650 listings now increasing that about 10 new listings a day( all i can do iam a old guy) -- when i miss listing less than 10 a day that day is when day one starts ---why i don't have any idea
- i sell many brand name and new hardware store items priced between $39-99 dollars and way below retail priced in any hardware store - i just recently started promo listings again at 1% - and will increase that each week by 1% ---to see if i can smooth over and get about one sale every day which is my goal -- items sell to all over canada----- just lumped in the middle of the week always
i sent a question sheet to my customers about why they buy from me and always the same answer -- the price and i can't get locally what you have to sell right now -- most sales are from the far regions of Canada
most costly to ship never under 20 dollars -- i absorb some of the shipping costs now i use to absorbed all the shipping that was a mistake-- lesson learned!!!! - and recently started to stop free shipping -- usually i pay half now - this seems to have no effect up or down on sales --- always the same mid-week sales with nothing on weekends -- its as if they turn the faucet off--- then on - so i will keep plugging that's all you can do- keep trying different things to throw off that software they use to show your listings then not show them-- i started using another site also to sell that has helped but very little--- odd sale here and there - i have about 25000 dollars worth of new items to list over the next 200 days --- maybe things will improve--- maybe they and most likely they will --just stay the same--
doker bohm
good luck

This is both interesting and not surprising.
My records go back about seven years- plus memory from 1998.
While for most sellers January and February are very weak, for my products they tend to be strong. December is terrible for me, I've even closed down for that month in the past, but for most sellers it is very busy.
It's hard at first, but keeping a record of how much (number and value of sales) you sold by month over years will help emotionally with days and weeks with no sales.

BTW the reason you have no sales is, not surprisingly, that you have nothing listed for sale.
