"member in USA" address in Canada

What if a buyer's user name is labelled "member in USA" but the shipping address and seller protection confirmed address are both given as in Canada? Anyone run into this? Is this considered a US or Canadian shipment for TRS rating purposes?

Name is different but that isn't necessarily much indication of anything.

I'll take the safe view that it's considered a US sale but wouldn't mind knowing for sure.

My 'guess' would be that it is a U.S. sale.

A sidebar, I'm sure you probably already know but you have to charge the Canadian taxes based on the ship to location.... so wherever they're shipping to in Canada....

I live in Canada, but only sell in USA.  However I have this United Kingdom person wanting to purchase a Ladder - how expensive is it to send to UK?  I have mine set as free shipping, however I only wanted to sell in United States - started talking to this UK person before I realized she was in the UK.??

thanks for the replies -

yep, the least advantageous answer depending on the situation seems to be the way to go 🙂

for gst pst purposes it's a Canadian sale

for trs rating purposes it's a US sale

can't go wrong with that!

From the mix you offer, I guess you are dropshipping.

Are you sure the items are in fact in the USA?

Your supplier's catalogue is probably the reason for the wonky pictures. Which gives me even less confidence in the supplier than in other dropshippers.

If the supplier will not ship to Canada, he certainly won't ship to Britain. Explain the situation to the customer and just to be certain put her on your Blocked Bidder List. You can find that under Manage Bidders on the Site Map.

It would be very expensive. You can check the cost here. http://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/far/business/findARate?execution=e1s1

I replied to another post of yours a few days ago. I don't think that you've seen it so I'll copy and paste it here and perhaps you'll see it.

You said you normally ship to the U.S. only but your listings don't even show on the  U.S. ebay.com site as you have just set up shipping to Canada, not to the U.S. If you want to ship to both Canada and the U.S. you can list on either ebay.ca or .com but if you want to ship to the U.S. only, then you must list on ebay.com. You can't list on ebay.ca and ship only in the U.S.
