ANY POWERSELLERS WHO ARE ALSO A TRADING ASSISTANT?

Hello...

I am an eBay Trading Assistant that just became a PowerSeller due to the items that are being dropped off for me to list on eBay.

I am looking for others doing what I am doing to share some ideas, etc. I am located in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario which is about an hour north of Toronto.

More information is at http://www.sell-ur-stuff.com

Talk soon,
Sean

We too just recently got into the Trading Assistance program mainly as a result of our local clients asking us to sell unwanted items.

sell-ur-stuff--i assume your profits don't fully go to you? do they pay you a percentage or a flat rate?

I did a lot of research of US Trading Assistants as there were not too many Canadian ones that seemed to have a good set up and this is what I came up with:

$3.50 to list (covers eBay's fees as the customer can pick their starting price). Then once it sells we charge 30% if less then $499.99, 25% if $500-$999.99 and 20% if over $1000.00. We started a minimum of $7.50 commission to avoid selling cheap things that just are not worth my time to list, and advise people to bring things that are about $25.00 in value or higher.

We made the local paper here

Had a good turn out from that in the last few weeks, which is why I got the PowerSeller status. There is one other guy locally who is trying to do what I do, however, he just got his Trading Assistant status and still only has a feedback of less then 60!

More information is at http://www.sell-ur-stuff.com and I am very open to ideas, good or bad... 😄

forgot to mention... the % that we charge, we pay all of eBay and paypal fees from that... some people the bring things are upset and think 30% is high, but not really for those of us that know how much $$ goes right to fees!

I know what you are going through. I actually have a "brick and morter" store that I opened in 1994. There is a slightly outdated link(renovations have happened) on my "About Me" page.
Best of luck.

I'm not sure about consignment stores or live auctioneers in your area, sell-ur-stuff, but I know here in Sudbury, ON, live auctioneers charge 30% on EVERYTHING regardless of price. Local consignment stores here charge 50% regardless of sale price.

I am into consignment sales/Trading Assistant and your pricing is almost exactly the same as mine.
