Just curious if buyers really pay for auctions such as this one containing a corn flake that looks like the State of Illinois?
Here's the link! It's hilarious!

Btw. auction started at $9.99, so the price was driven by demand (hopefully).
I don't know what caused eBay to pull the listing and I don't care. But IMO if someone is willing to pay $200,000 for something/anything, it's their right to do so regardless if we all agree on that or not.

I was not questioning anyone's right to list, sell or buy this cornflake OR any other item...such as a pretzel that was sold recently for a high price.
My original question was....DO BUYERS really pay this much for a cornflake? Or is this auction just for fun?

Sometimes....Golden Palace (a casino) used to buy a lot of this sort of garbage strictly as an advertising gimmick.
I think the days of selling this sort of stuff are over but people still list them and people bid (but I doubt they follow through very often).

I wonder myself too. I would not buy used cornflake only if it had resell value, which it might not have, because 2nd auction would not get such attention 🙂
