Hi Bulut...
On the Road has been pretty much derailed... there has been no mention of it being resurrected. The program was meant to travel Canada to offer an initial introduction to eBay for newbies. There was also an advanced seminar that was offered. In some cities it did well and in others not so well. It really came down to being a very expensive proposition. In Canada the education of new eBayers is now pretty much left up to the few Education Specialists that there are and eBay.ca is not even sinking much money or effort into that.
I'm not sure it would be a good idea to invite anyone from eBay to a meeting of Powersellers... it might not be a too welcoming environment. It would largely turn into a b*tch session regarding fees, feedback, fees, poor support and fees.
You don't mention in your post where you are. I wonder about the economics of renting any type of hall. Maybe initial meetings could even be held over lunch. Even meeting at a Tim's would be a good start. For larger crowds many restaurants have small rooms available for just this kind of meeting. If the need were substantial enough, there are also plenty of inexpensive meeting rooms available. Public libraries often have meeting rooms for a very low cost. In Kitchener, one of the local branches rents out a meeting room that can accommodate up to 70 for $25 for two hours or $65 for a full day.
I personally would like to see some kind of group purchases of packaging products. I pay pretty competitive prices now but they can always improve. I know of several companies that would be anxious to sharpen their pencil for a bulk purchase.
