Because of the colossal eff up by Ebay/Paypal on the Tracked Packet USA & Expedited USA shipping, I had to refund a very upset buyer the full shipping fee. I was charged a final value fee on shipping. I want that fee back!
I have went over these forums and google searching for an answer on FVF for shipping but there's nothing - along with Ebay help which is totally useless.
Can I get this fee credited? Do I have to call in to Ebay & spend an hour on the phone for $2.51? And if/when they say they will credit but don't & I have to call back & spend another hour to find out no one put a note in my file..... grrrr.

"Do I have to call in to Ebay"
Yes.
In retrospect, it may have been easier to forget the PayPal shipping option while they had problems and ship from the post office or postal station. It may have cost a bit more but you would have been ahead with a happy customer and not having to refund the shipping charge.

I was going to do that but buyer was cutting it close on the shipping window I had as after she informed me she was moving. Now I'm sending to her new address (for free) with regular airmail as there's no rush now but want to try to at least cut down on my losses.

But thanks, I guess I will call them & see what I can do. I've learned to never trust ebay/paypal as a seller & have changed all my handling times to 3 days so if/when this type of thing happens again I at least have some time & options on what to do without panicking!

"have changed all my handling times to 3 days"
The problem here is that you may lose some visibility in Best Match Search results as "one day" handling is given some preference.
In many instances, that added visibility is irrelevant. However, some buyers may hit the back button when they see "three days" if most competitors show "one day".
Tough choice.

"to find out no one put a note in my file.."
Yes it seems that it is happening more and more now. Since I am deaf and rely on Internet Phone (IP) to call anyone. I use IP to call eBay customer service about some issues and when nothing was being done. I called eBay again 3 weeks later to find out there is no note on my file.
I simply informed that I have a transcript of our conversation (3 weeks ago) printed (I always printed all transcripts with eBay just in case should anything arise that I need as proofs, LOL) and bingo, now they said they do have the note in my file! Hmm??? Something fishy there???

Yes collectors52, there is something fishy there it is called Lazy CSRs , that do everything possible to make their days easier. They do not care if they piss the customer off, as long as they do not have to do too much work for their pay.

Please drop me a note with the item number & I'll have it credited for you.
