Good afternoon, Raphael:
I received and used my shipping supplies coupon earlier this week. I picked the packing tape despite my better judgement (thank you, feedback) since I've no use whatsoever for the other items and noted what costs US $23.99 for Americans is $69.18 CAD for Canadians. Please explain. That's not currency conversion.

versus

Furthermore, the listing made no mention of the shipping service to be used. My Order Details from ebay indicate this packing tape is now in the hands of FedEx international and that
Bill duties/taxes/fees to |
Recipient
The recipient: that's me. FedEx's import fees/brokerage on this will cost me exactly what amount? Another large international company (not ebay) that I use prepays that bill for duties/taxes/fees when you shop from from their store in CAD but they choose to ship from their USA warehouse. As is fitting.
If ebay Canada is serious about making ebay Shipping supplies for Canadian sellers work, they should have their own warehouse of shipping supplies located in Canada.
Or maybe don't use FedEx. Every single powerseller on eBay in Canada knows that couriers are to be avoided for international shipments due to their high brokerage fees for collecting duty, doesn't ebay as a corporation know this? Canada Post's handling charge is $9.95. That's high enough for most buyers.
Furthermore, I prefer to do my own importing. That's the reason I keep an American shipping address. Why can't I use a coupon issued in USD and shipped to a USA address?
Thank you,
Maureen

Couple of new bugs within the program:
When I list something (either on .CA or .COM) I am getting a new message about VAT.
* Stated fees exclude VAT. Learn more about rounding and how VAT applies to you.
Of course, VAT doesn't apply to me as I am not in Britain.
Second:
The printer friendly version of the Order Details show the Payment as "Payment in Process" and the Shipping Cost as blank.
Thanks

Not really a a bug. It would be an issue if it included VAT.
Lots of places (not just the UK) use VAT. I think this a result of the EU flexing it's regulation arm at eBay.
The bugs are the info links that don't work properly.

Agree but this is a new message so something has changed. Program should be able to display only relevant messaging to users country of record.

A second issue, less pressing but still one that requires some kind of elaboration or explanation from ebay.
Why do some ebay users NOT have an option to use Research lists when others do?
I am one of the have-nots.

Is there some reason why eBay constantly changes things that are working fine? Usually the new version ends up being worse than the previous one. The "Searches you follow" page has changed recently. Aside from the new version looking worse than before (harder to read, poorly laid out, smaller fonts) it is lacking in functionality from the previous version. Previously you could just click on the name of the search (which can't be changed on that page for some reason but that happened years ago in a past "improvement") to see search items. Now you need to find the tiny "View Items" link over at the right hand side. This seems a step backwards to me.
And now the only options to sort the searches seems to be by name. Previously they could be sorted so newer searches were listed first. Since I can't give them meaningful names, searching by name seems rather pointless. If I have 100 searches saved, chances are I might be most interested in my most recent ones and want to view those first. But maybe that's just me. And if I wanted to see them by name then I could choose that option.
[Yes, I can go to the eBay home page, find the "You're following" 100 searches link and go in there and change the search name. However it doesn't seem to carry over into the "Searches you follow" page for some reason.]
And while I'm whining about searches, it seems the results returned to the mobile app are different than I get on the website. I recently modified and added a few searches and the website results are fine. However on the mobile app it appears I get results from every category. If I am looking for Ethiopian records I probably don't much care about Ethiopian gemstones. I would have thought that the search engine backend would be retrieving the same data and it would just be a matter of presenting it on different platforms. Or else the mobile app is not sending the proper query for some reason. Given that the mobile app is a piece of ***Bleep***, nothing surprises me about it anymore.

Hi Raphael, I've had it open all day long and it's still 1924... I did have some that were listed through the .com and in US dollars so i understand now why it wouldn't be exactly the same. Is there any way though that I can check which ones are .com so that i can confirm i have all the listings? as originally when i started there was 1941 listings, now it shows 1924... so the numbers still really aren't adding up.

Is anyone experiencing missing shipments from Asian gadget suppliers. My last set of purchases (electronic parts, printer ink, air particle sensor, magnets etc) in late Apr and early May have not arrived. They said it was shipped but no sign of anything.
My suspicious mind almost thinks they took the order and either never sent the item but this is unlikely. So could it be the post office that is causing extraordinary delays or lost shipments. Two weeks is the fastest things arrive and five (maybe six) weeks at the outside. But it's odd almost everything is not reaching me.

It has nothing to do with knowing my inventory. If I relisted any item before it always knew what I sold and relisted the correct quantity. I am sure I'm not alone in assuming that it would migrate the same way. If we were told before starting the migrating that we should check the quantity of multiple items we could have changed it while we were doing it. With over 5000 items I will now have to go back and check them one at a time to make sure it's correct.
Hi bunbar,
I appreciate what you're saying and agree that what the tool is doing now is not ideal for quantity listings. I have asked the developer team to look into changing how this works. Stay tuned.

As far as the shipping for books, again knowing this in advance would have made a big difference. When they were listed they were weighed and had the right amount of shipping. Now I will have to go through them one at a time and add international shipping accordingly
For sellers who are using calculated shipping and want to move to eBay.com, unfortunately that is the best we can do. If calculated shipping is important to someone's business, they should consider staying on eBay.ca and list in CAD instead. With that said, it is up to each seller to decide what is best in their own particular case.

"...they should consider staying on eBay.ca and list in CAD instead. ..."
When you did your analysis last year and concluded that Canadian sellers would not be disadvantaged listing in Cdn$ instead of US$ on eBay.ca (except for auto parts) what were the results for the "books" category specifically?

Hi Raphael, this started a couple of weeks ago. When you click on "View Order Details" the shipping cost and payment date info is shown correctly on the "Order Details" page. However when you click on the "Printer Friendly Page" button to print the info, the shipping cost info disappears completely and the payment status is shown as "Payment in Process" instead of having the payment date.
This is a problem since I (and others) print off this page and file it and use it for bookkeeping purposes.
Hi vintagenorth,
Thanks for the report. I have alerted the team who owns that page.

I have a store on .com and I received a coupon for $50 US quite some ago and tried to use it right away.
When I try to use on the US site I’m told that the seller does not ship to me and I’m blocked out.
I’m also blocked from using it on the Canadian site.
I’d like to use my coupon and purchase US$50 worth of supplies but I’m blocked from both sites and time is running out now. It expires in about 2 weeks.
Can you help us with that?
Hi sylviebee,
I think there were US coupons sent to Canadian sellers in error at the beginning of the program. These coupons are unusable for you, you need to use the Canadian coupon on the Canadian store. Sorry for the confusion.
I have not received a Canadian coupon. How do I get one?
Hi sylviebee,
The coupon appears in the My eBay menu, accessible from the page header all the way up your screen. Just hover your mouse over the My eBay link and the coupon will show up there at the bottom of the menu that appears.

eBay Canada is the only option for Canadian sellers of books.... with an exception as noted below
eBay.com has a shipping cap .......
A Canadian seller that uses Canada Post cannot compete with this cap.... which is based on USPS Media Mail.
Canadian sellers that live close to the Canada-US border have been able to deliver purchases into the USPS system....
However, they must sell in the hundreds each week.
The sellers I know deliver 300 to 500 parcels each week... from Winnipeg to Pembina in North Dakota
Winnipeg to the Canada-US border is a 150 mile round trip.....
There are other options for delivery to USPS in other parts of Canada

Hello. Thanks for taking the time to hold these sessions. You are a brave soul. 🙂
Other than the (apparently sub-standard/stinky) packing tape, I have absolutely zero need for any of the supplies being offered through the coupon program.
My business uses standard manila envelopes (non padded) and 4 x 4 x 4 boxes. Neither of which I see listed as available.
I may not need the extra 7500 listings but, the extra $100 was slapped on my monthly fee.
I understand that, like all "major decisions" they are created by the U.S. staff and are custom designed for the U.S. market. Period.
But to launch the program as such to the Canadian market as they did is more than ill-advised.... it is a swift kick to the shins that missed by about 2 feet, so to speak.
How about the following...?
Lower my monthly store fee and put the kibosh on the supplies.
Or
Roll back the store fee increases until the long and arduous negotiations with a potential Canadian supplier is in place.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled program, already in progress.
Hello snoopwiz,
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts, I'll share them with the team. I'm sorry the new Stores pricing isn't a better fit for your business.

I'm a Canadian who lists on the US site.
I received a US coupon for shipping supplies which I'm unable to use.
Raphael, you suggested that I should use the Canadian coupon but I have not received one.
Are Canadians who list on .com going to receive a coupon which can be used for shipping supplies?
If so, when will we receive our coupon? Time is running out.
TY
I confirm I don't see your coupon on eBay.ca. Not sure why, but I have asked a trusted colleague to look into it. Watch your My eBay menu, that's where is will appear.

I have 2 selling accounts so rec'd 2 coupons, one for each store. Can I combine and use both for one order? Otherwise, one coupon by itself doesn't even cover the cost of shipping.
Hi msmaggie060,
I'm not sure that you can combine coupons that way, as they are attached to one user ID, as I understand it.
Please see the supplies store now, the team has been making changes to prices and shipping will be 100% via USPS going forward. You should see more attractive pricing.
