Hmmm this one is interesting.
I tried to order more of the green customs stickers online, and they are "out of stock".
Asked my local post office and the postal lady has done a lot of calling to find out the green customs stickers are discontinued.
I've asked what we're supposed to do with "other lettermail" (not small packet or expedited/expresspost which the helpful people she has been talking with keep pointing to) and the answer I've received back is that I don't have to put anything on it.
This is probably going to be a problem, especially internationally as one can send up to 500g as other lettermail....I struggle with nothing on the outside of a bubble envelope that has up to 500g on it!!!
Anyone heard anything different or at least an alternative solution??

The green sticker is form CN22. It has been replaced by the bigger white CN22 with full address and customs declaration to be filled out.
The white CN22 form says Small Packet on it and is to be used for Light Packet also. Light Packet is supposed to be used for goods sold. Letter-post is not supposed to be used for goods sold. It is for documents only.

So, while the sticker (green or white) is the Best Practice could you just write the information on the parcel "Contents- used clothing -value $14.50 CDN" and be all right?
Or could you photocopy multiple copies of the defunct green sticker, fill that out, and tape it on?
And for most goods the category is "Other" with a three word explanation.

Why not just get the proper form from a postal outlet or post office or, use paypal shipping and not have to worry about filling about extra paper work? Perhaps just writing it would work..I have no idea...but it doesn't look very professional.
I do find it really odd though that they still have the green stitckers online if they aren't available at all. I don't think that I have ever seen them. The odd time that I have needed a separate custom form, it has been white.

I have never put any customs stickers on lettermail up to 500 grams at all. Have never had any problems, or returns because of it, so basically the only stuff that has customs info on it from me is the ones I process through paypal and that's light packet, small air etc. I'm glad I haven't had to fill out those tiresome little pieces of paper...by the way, I just put my packages into mailboxes on the street, I find if I take it to a post office some ask for the stickers some don't.
