Hi! Has anyone shipped to Brazil before? This is this first time I have got a buyer from Brazil (a zero feedback one). It's only a $20 item so of course I'm not going to use tracked method for it (just gonna use light packet). Just wondering if anyone had problems shipping there before or any good/bad experience with zero feedback score buyers there?
Thanks for any input

Brazil was a "black hole" for me and a big part of the reason I gave up shipping to South America months ago.

I'm with Steve, though at one time there was never a problem.
Not Anymore.

It's not on my list of trustworthy postal systems.

The only time an item I've shipped hasn't been received, it was shipped to Brazil. But that was recent, and it still might be found... somewhere.
I suggest using a service with tracking and delivery confirmation.

If it is at all possible to get it to go in a normal #10 sized envelope as lettermail, that will be your greatest chance for it to arrive safely. If it has to go light packet the risk of loss is higher. You may have already seen this but if not, here is a link to my international shipping loss experience: http://community.ebay.ca/t5/Seller-Central/My-experience-Updated-Self-Insurance-statistics/m-p/22247...
Yes it fits in a normal sized envelope and that's what I plan to use to send to begin with. Maybe I should just stick stamps on it and mail it via regular letterpost instead of going to the post office to mail it...
It's two very flat round plastic keychains (such as 301173574115) this Brazil buyer bought... if buyer do plan to scam me then I feel bad for this desperate buyer lol.
I will mail it via letterpost and stick stamps on it instead of getting light packet from the post office and see how it goes then I don't want to cancel the sale and refund the buyer and tell her I don't want to ship to her as that might land me a negative lol. Not sure what the English level is like for the zero feedback buyer. She did pay right away (I require payment within 7 days) so she seems to be a good (?) one...
If it's $40+ I definitely would just refund and cancel the sale... but I don't think cartoon keychains are super high risk category.
I'm not going to use tracking for this since tracking itself would cost more than the item.
Thank you for everyone else's feedback. Right now I have just adjusted my shipping preference to block central and south America as well to prevent future worries.

Hi gillian -- Off the topic, but I notice you seem to have the "new" store format -- was that by choice, or was it imposed by eBay as part of their transition to the new design? Is your store set up on eBay.com perhaps, and that's why you've got the updated style?
Just curious, since I really, really don't want to have to spend time right now customizing my storefront all over again!

Hi Rose,
I clicked on it myself to change it over. Not too sure about it yet, but it does give you the option to revert back to the old style if you wish. I'm just giving it a few days to see if I want to keep it. Although, maybe eventually we won't have a choice and we'll all have to have it, with no option to switch back. I haven't done anything with the new one yet though. Just left it as it appeared. 😄

Many thanks! I haven't seen that option presented to me yet, and I'd rather not -- for a while anyway.
I'm not sure I prefer the extra-large gallery at the top of the store page (because I use Auctiva and customize my listing frames). However, if and when the new format becomes mandatory, hopefully we'll have some control over customizing certain features.

If you want to upgrade your store design or just see what it would look like with the new design you can do that at the following link.

Thanks 'pj'-- I just tried it, and all I can say is YUCK. I won't be making this switch unless forced to do it. I find the design far too ungrounded, as if everything is floating away, too much white space, difficult to read, too little definition of the spatial elements. Very poor, in my opinion.
I imagine there will be some design options available if we're eventually obligated to make the switch, which might mitigate some of the drawbacks, but as it stands, I'll pass.
