I bought an Item yesterday from BC value over $ 500
The Seller choosed CP to ship .
Ebay shows delivery time February 12/25
How ebay knows when Item will be delivered ? Almost 2 months waiting from Province to Province .
Wish I can cancel order , but Seller was so fast to create label with CP .
And ebay stated shiped when Item is not shipped, only label created .

Due to the CP strike, eBay extended all estimated shipping dates, and all shipping companies made USA & International shipments a priority over domestic. Now that CP has the huge task to clear the backlog, delays will still continue well into January. There is no way for CP or eBay to accurately project any delivery dates at this time so the "guesstimate" will linger...Many sellers are of the mindset to generate the shipping label, and then ship whenever it is feasible to do so....Nothing is being accepted by the postal outlets until Thursday, and thereafter the shipping transit time and delivery time will emerge as mail shipments get processed into the postal system...

Due to the postal strike eBay has been updating delivery times to Canadian sellers listings. Building in extra trime because there was no firm date for strike to end. The estimate is most likely longest possible estimate available. Patience is always required at this time of year. Seller may have also added additional handling time for added leeway. This would also inflate the numbers shown. In checking one of your listings delivery is showing mid January to Calgary.

With or without labour disruptions, when there is a close deadline, like Christmas, it is best to shop locally.

If the item is tracked you can see the last place it was recorded.
Not where it currently is.
Canada Post is not accepting new packages until Thursday, so they might be putting a push on moving those they already have in hand.
Better to be told it will arrive in February and have it arrive before the New Year, than to be told December 23 and have it appear on December 24.

I have an item shipped by USPS to Canada and it got stuck in NY warehouse since Dec 3. Still no movement as of today. CP has started taking new parcels, why hasn't my package moved?

After the strike was announced USPS put international parcels coming to Canada on hold. Your parcel is one of many that need to be processed. There will be the same type of large quantities hitting Canada as they are released by customs. Causes delays all along the processing line.
