I purchased three items off eBay, two from China and one from USA via GSP delivering to Vancouver, Canada. I received the items from China within 2 weeks, but the item from USA's last update was 1.5 weeks ago showing "US, Kentucky, Erlanger, 41025-2501, Shipped from the Global Shipping Center to International Destination." It's been stuck on that for last week and a half.
From what I've read, it just means it's on its way to Canada and not to my home yet. Is shipping really this slow? I understand it's slower with covid, but is anyone else experiencing slow shipping times?

I've been selling mail order for over 30 years, everything from postage stamps to cast iron stoves, and it's been my experience that It takes about 20 days for delivery anywhere in North America (Canada-> USA/ USA-> Canada) while anything over 30 days from Asia is late.
Your Chinese sellers were likely using Air Mail, which gets your purchase to Canada quickly after which Canada Post comes into play.
Covid has hit the US and the USPS harder than most of the world, particularly with so many places restricting movement from the USA, although understaffing due to sickness among postal terminal workers is certainly in play along with games being played by the Trump-appointed management.
Once your purchase has arrived in Erlanger, it is pre-cleared by Canadian customs, and as noted is destined for Canada.
Now I switch to a long ago post by another member:
- Log on to eBay.ca
- Under the My eBay menu select Purchase History
- Under your orders find the specific order. It should have something like the following:
Estimated delivery Mon, Jan 11 - Thu, Jan 21
Tracking number: Tracking number UPAAB000000#########
- Click on the UPA number. This should open up a Shipment Details window, which should contain something like this:
This shipment has been transferred to CPC for delivery to the final destination # 70351#########
-Click on the Canada Post number to see where the Canada Post Tracking history and expected delivery
Did eBay send you a UPA# yet?
You can look on the PB tracking page.
Go to the Pitney Bowes Parcel Tracker page at https://parceltracking.pb.com/app/#/dashboard/
Pitney Bowes runs the Global Shipping Program for eBay.
More to the point, what window did eBay give you for delivery?
The last day of that window is the first day you can open a Dispute for Item Not Received.

Yes it will takes weeks and if you don’t have a tracking number you will never find it. Chances are it was handed over to Canpar and is just lost somewhere. Good luck and avoid Canpar at all cost.

Generally, a GSP purchase is at my door within 3 weeks. Lately though, well over 3 weeks.
And Ebay / Pitney Bowes tracking details are worthless once your package hits customs. Your package could be with Canada Post, Purolator, Canpar.
I'm waiting 7 days now after the "The carrier in your country has the package." message showed on my ebay tracking page. There is no update, there is no mention of which carrier has the package. You're left hanging until the package appears at your door. Or not.

If the last estimated date for delivery has passed, the eBay Resolution Centre is at the bottom of this page.
Specify that the shipment was being handled by the GSP and ask for a GSP specialist.
If the carrier cannot prove delivery, GSP is very good about refunds. They have insurance.
And if the item shows up later, the GSP does NOT want it back.
What was the last estimated date for delivery?

The last status update from Oct 29 is "Shipped from the Global Shipping Center to International Destination" I would assume that means it's on its way to a Canadian carrier. Oct 29. Almost 2 weeks ago and it still hasn't made it to Canada?
+++++++++++++++
It will have to go through Canada customs before reaching the carrier in Canada.
My recent GSP shipments have been delivered by Purolator.

GSP items are pre-cleared in Kentucky, but if the border is busy, everything gets hung up.
Since a lot of GSP shipping seems to go through Mississauga /Gateway Terminal looking at pandemic rates in the Toronto area means something.
BTW- This is what a postal terminal looks like.

Even though GSP items are "precleared" in Kentucky they still get delivered to Canada Customs.
Your tracking will show delivered to Canada Customs and then Cleared Canada Customs.
This usually takes a day or two.

As a side note a recent book purchase from a US seller (Indiana to Calgary) marked Intl Economy was delivered in 5 1/2 weeks. A second book ordered from the UK shipped Economy Shipping (17 -27 business days). Estimated delivery Wednesday(Nov 18). We shall see. And GSP was not involved in either of those. Small Packet Air Canada to the USA is 7 to 12 business days.....MAX. Is it customs, routing, volume or a combination? Hard to know for sure. Should eBay have revised Late Delivery guidelines? How much control do sellers truly have for delivery times? Minimal at best. Maybe extending feedback time limits for both parties would have been very helpful.

It has started to take a really long time now that we have so many state-employed people dying suddenly or getting a debilitating auto-immune disease, should be about 1-2 weeks longer then 2020 era

As far as I know, the Global Shipping Program is pretty much dead now. Two other services--one of them scheduled to be discontinued in September--are handling international shipments for sellers who do not want to make direct shipments from the US. Your item is either being handled through eBay International Standard Delivery--which is extremely slow much of the time--or else it's being handled by eBay International Shipping (eIS), which is still a fairly new service.
Items forwarded through eIS that are destined for Canada seem to be going through hubs located in the Chicago area. Chicago's USPS hubs for domestic and international mail tend to get pretty bogged down even at the best of times, so it may be that sellers who use USPS to get their items to the eIS hub are seeing their shipments get delayed even before this new forwarding service gets hold of them.

With decades of experience in mail order, I assume shipments will take about 21 days to arrive whether to or from the USA.
The outliers are the ones remembered, whether those that arrive really early, which many will presume is normal, or very late.
This is why I use Economy Shipping from an International Location with an 11-23 day delivery time.
Usually shipments arrive before the 11th day, but the 23 days covers me.
