How beautiful and peaceful, Nan 🙂  I could do that....( well, I've never made 'real' jam, and I don't know how how to drive a tractor - although I was an awestruck little passenger many a time as a child - so maybe I'll rethink this 😉 )

We used to have lots of wide open space in the country, the girls caught frogs and snakes and built    forts for their friends and their dolls,  had sleep-outs in tents in the 'wild', but we traded in the regular deer and the coyotes and space  for eagles and ospreys and herons and kingfishers and foxes, with just  a side of deer and coyotes, but no 'space', of our own.  ( unless I learn to walk on water )

Life's a constant trade-off, so love what you've got when you've got it 🙂

( but right now I'm still loving jam more than traveling, ha!)

Anyway, good morning Marian and everybody!  Have a great day, and keep warm!

Travelling is tiring!  I like taking holidays at home ... LOL

Sherri:  I agree with the trade-offs ... we used to have more acreage (when we were still in Ontario) but now we can walk to the store/school/etc. in less than 5 minutes and if you walk the other way 5 minutes ... you're out of town.  LOL

Nan:  your space looks awesome!

Claire:  I can believe that St. Lawrence has won some awards; it's a great market.  Having never been to the one in Montreal ... can't say about that one!

Hiya Ducks3ducks:  nope, no idea about bartering warehouses.

It's warmed up to minus (-25) here ... was minus (-37) last night when I went to bed.  Even without the wind chill ... that's cold, cold, cold!

If we ever get this winter over with ... which of course will happen, no matter what I'm thinking about it right now LOL ... it will be nice to get outside again.  LOL  Hybernating during the cold weather is one of my tactics.  I don't really like the cold.

Been working on paperwork this week mostly ... will have another week or two of that yet ... plus working on the cosmetic lotion in the evenings ... right now I have about 96 jars on the counter, each with a slight variation of the product to see which one will be the most stable ... which one has the best scent ... which one has the best texture ... etc. etc.  I want to have this lotion ready when they launch the cream in the spring, so that all the testing can be done and it can be launched next spring.  The muscle balm will launch in between the two somewhere, probably in the fall.

The cosmetic lotion uses murumuru butter as the main butter.  It's amazing!

Have a fantabulous day  (((((((((((((((((((((((everyone)))))))))))))))))))))))

Good morning all! Oh, I guess I mean good afternoon, seems its past noon here in Ontario!

My daughter just returned (to her place in AB) from a 1 day trip to Winnipeg. She said it was COLD there!

We stayed in Winnipeg after driving my DD to school in Olds, AB in 2002. Had dinner at a Thai restaurant in a little strip mall somewhere in Winnipeg. Absolutely the best Thai food we have ever eaten. Can't remember the name of the place though.

Out all day yesterday and finally found some nice snow boots on sale. Going north next week, will need them.

Marian, I have never had this before, but my lips are cracked and blistered from the cold. Doc gave me some cortisone creme, seems to have helped. Come on spring!!

Freezing rain warning today! Had some during the night too I think. No school buses running so the roads must be bad. Lots of branches down.

Off to light up the a fire in the fireplaces, just in case we lose power.

Hi! Sounds like nasty weather everywhere.

We went to vist our oldest daughter yesterday, normally a 2 hour drive. Snow started just before we left and took us 3.5 hrs to get home:(

Hope you all have a great week 🙂

(((Marian))) were you down for your entire birthday???  (((hugs))) feel better!

Msmaggie:  yes, I think the weather is bad all over ... Alex took two extra days to do his regular run ... got caught in all that snow down in MI.

Nan:  so much snow all at once this year, eh?

Still warming up ... it's minus (-8) right now.

Busy day tomorrow ... lots of running around to do ... Josh to the dentist ... x-rays for me ... Alex has to see the eye doctor ... you know, just busy stuff.

Good morning all.

Things are warming up here in Toronto.  Thunderstorms are expected this evening and record breaking temperatures tomorrow.  This will help clear the sidewalks and roads of slush and ice.

Marian, I hope you are feeling somewhat better.  Benadryl can eally knock you out.

As an accountant, I am really busy this time of year.  I am church treasurer and am spending a lot of time on our books and records.  I am currently dealing with the audit.

Health and happiness to all.

Good afternoon all!

Hope everyone is enjoying the mild weather.  🙂

It's 14C right now and I'm taking full advantage of it.  🙂

Just came back from our second walk today, hoping to do another one before the rain starts.

Enjoy!

Sherry, are you in Panama?  If so, have a great vacation!

better now. No Jannie, my hunny took me out for dinner then I went to emerg, later that night. Chapped and sore lips still but the cortisoid cream is helping.

Waves to all....Sherry you're travelling again soon?

Good Afternoon!

It's minus (-19) degrees with 70% humidity and overcast skies here in the center of the country.

Susan:  it's definitely that time of the year here as well ... wishing I could hire a bookkeeper/assistant person to take some of this load off.  It's a challenge to do both what I always do and add the year end / inventory / books stuff as well.

(((Marian))) hoping this leaves you soon ... does it help that you have those warmer temperatures???

Claire:  14 degrees???  Holey Moley!

Sounds like all of you seem to have warmer temps right now.  To have a longer growing season and a less drastic winter are definitely in it when we decided to move again.  The older I get, the less I like winter!

Ah well ... we'll make the best of it!  We have so much to be grateful for ...

Josh has finished his exams for this term; he needs to re-do his pre-calculus to get his marks up a little higher.  He did pass, but not with enough of a mark to take to college ... so he's taking the same course via internet ... hopefully, he'll understand it a little better the second time around.  He could re-take it in summer school, however, we hope to be moved before that, so the internet option seemed the most reasonable all the way around.

Alex was held up by snow and weather in MI last week, so he was home late Sunday and just left for his new "week" today.  The schedule gets messed up when that happens ... however ... more importantly, he came home safe and that's more important than schedules.  LOL

So at this point, no one else is home ... Josh has gone to his Mom's for a few days, Paul is on his run and Alex just left for the week ... wooHoo!  Some alone time!

Jannie, a little alone time is always nice!  You get to run the household according to your own whims.

Yesterday we broke records with a high of 14-16 degrees.  This morning it is cold and really snowing!

My latest knitting project- a sweatshirt in merino wool- is almost done.  I am down to sewing the seams and finishing the garment.  As it is just a sweatshirt, I am crocheting the edges and making it tunic-style.  I hope to finish it up quickly so I can wear it through the colder part of the winter.

If Sherry is in Panama I hope she is enjoying herself.

Marian, I hope your lips are calming down.

Hi to Claire.

Good morning everyone!

Jannie, it's very cold here too and the wind makes it even worse.  Unfortunately, that 14 above didn't stick around long enough for us.  😞

Making some chicken noodle soup for lunch, the vegetables are simmering in the broth, will add the egg noodles and chicken when it gets closer to lunchtime but it already smell delicious.   Making a batch big enough to last us the weekend.  🙂

Pizza dough is already prepared for tonight's meal and is rising on top of the fridge, we're having half and half pizza, his has pepperoni and veggies, my half has chicken and spinach with some veggies and goat's cheese.  Yum!  🙂

Hope everyone is keeping warm!
