Congrats on the Snipe!
Shopping today was a nuisance ... they were out of so many things ... poppy seeds, sunflower seeds, currants ... sheesh!
Ah well ... my life could be much worse than being thwarted in my grocery lists. LOL LOL LOL

Good morning everyone!
We had a few days of very cold weather but warming up to above freezing for next week, just in time for taking down the Xmas decorations. 🙂
Hope everyone is having a good start for 2013, I have a feeling that it will be a good one! 🙂

Hello Marian and all 🙂
The lake is not well-frozen yet, ( there were slushy sections after the cold subsided) yet there are snowmobilers and ice huts and atv's already moving about. We got so much snow before the temp dropped that it insulated the ice from freezing up properly. It scares me to see them, esp. when they congregate in a small area!
Even the foxes know to stay tight to the shoreline until safer ice prevails.

Just stopped by for a quick HELLO. Nice to know that you are all here again. I may not have much to says ,but I can give a ((hug))
01-07-2013 04:03 PM
Greetings Marian, Nan, and all 🙂
Cold and bright here, had a snowy, misty thawing day yesterday, but we're back to more wintery temps again today.
Hope everybody's little angels, and big and bigger angels are all doing well, and keeping you on your toes!
Waiting on the chili to come out of the oven. Smells great!
PS are you all settled now, Marian?!
01-08-2013 03:17 AM
hey hey, evening night owls and good morning!
Yes almond_t I am all moved, unpacked and ready to hang pictures tonight. 😄
01-09-2013 01:51 PM
Minus (-5) at noon ... overcast skies with 68% humidity here in the center of Canada.
It's January ... so much to do ... inventory, year end books, new business plan for 2013 ... doesn't sound like much ... but believe me it takes all of my time.
The holidays were so nice ... downtime and time with family is always such a treat.
Sherri: I understand your concern about the ice ... people really should pay more attention. *sigh*
Nan: nice to see you! (((hugs)))
Marian: you're all moved in? Holey Moley! I never get moved in that quickly ... takes me forever (it seems) to really organize and decide on my new surroundings. kudos to you.
Claire: I do believe you are right ... 2013 "feels" like it should be a good year. Numerologically, it is a "6" year.
In a "6" Universal Year:
* Adjustment and Harmonization
* Movements for Improved health conditions
* Advances in education
* Home economics are at the forefront
Marriage license bureaus usually have to increase their staff in a 6-year; or work overtime to take care of the applications. The world is looking for a "breather" ... taking time to "settle down" a bit.
Internationally: General adjustment and harmonization becomes of paramount importance and if things have gone too far in the 5-year to make it peace-ably possible; war may take a hand so that the job may be thoroughly done.
Locally: many clubs and societies are formed for "village improvement". Homes are redecorated and replenished. Comfort and improvement come to the fore.
I wish you:
Smiles when sadness invades you.
Confidence when you have doubts.
Comfort when you need it most.

(((Jannie))) Yes, I agree, 2013 is going to be a good year!
Except perhaps not for those Darwinians who have campers and
trailers out on the melting lake . . . And temperature's rising ...
01-10-2013 12:55 AM
Sherri: For those who have eyes to see ... LOL
It's really quite warm here for this time of the year ... in the middle of January to be minus (-6) at midnight (ish) is a bit warm, but not overtly so.
I imagine we'll still get the really cold stuff coming our way yet.
Working on paperwork doesn't leave much room for creative endeavours ... however, I took a break from inventory today and worked out a challenge that I've been having with the cosmetic lotion ... now it should work better. I'm making a batch as we speak. LOL Yes, I do realize that midnight is not the time to be working on this. LOL Too bad ... inspiration comes when it comes.
Have a fantabulous day, everyone!

good morning!
Halifax is experiencing + temps all week and next week. 0 at night and +3-6. Won't say it's unheard of, but generally we are in the -10 to -15 range by now.
01-10-2013 06:59 AM
Good morning ladies!
Life is good! 🙂
01-10-2013 07:01 AM
Good morning, Marian and all 🙂
Marian, , same here, unseasonally warm. With all the early heavy snow we had, I don't think the ground is freezing any time soon, either. See what this week of high temps brings.
Jannie, anyone with ears can hear a collective 'shet-shet-shet' from those who now can't get out to their little ' homes ' on the ice! I'm just waiting for a team of super sled-dogs to save the day, ha!
Oh, btw Jannie, I, too, ordered some of your new cream after you told us about it, and I'm pleased to report they had it delivered into my hands in less than a week, and that included a weekend! Will let you know how I make out with it! Quite a surprise when I opened the jar, I must say 😉 ! 🙂
01-10-2013 07:03 AM
Ahh, morning, Claire! 🙂
01-10-2013 07:23 AM
Good Morning 🙂
01-10-2013 12:43 PM
Good afternoon!
I am enjoying this weather. Maybe we will have a winter similar to last year. 🙂
And good news...the pod of killer whales were able to free themselves from the ice. All is well that ends well. 🙂
01-12-2013 12:34 AM
Almost midnight!
We're having a blizzard! LOL Temperature is down to minus (-20) with 84% humidity ... lots of wind and lots of snow!
Sherri: it was a surprise??? Any particular reason? If it was allowed to freeze it will not be viable any longer ... so please let me know.
Hello to Marian, Claire, Nan and all ...
double blind clinical studies came back for the muscle balm today ... very favourable results! It's my muscle balm with the addition of colloidal copper ... so we knew it was good! LOL We've been testing it on real people for a couple of decades already. He (the distributor) wants to call it "terminator muscle balm" ... not sure if I like that, but it's his choice on names and marketing, etc.
Still working on the facial cream ... that was a last night project and although it hasn't been quite 24 hours (the minimum wait period to check for viscosity, etc.) it looks really good so far ... just not the colour we want ... since we are not adding any colourant (just natural ingredients) we were a little surprised by the colour. I'll have to do some more tests now to determine when the colour flips to that lovely turquoise-ey tone.
Anyway ... just babbling ... trying to get the day done so that I can get an early night in. Still waiting for something to cool and something else needs another stir with the immersion blender (it's 17,000 RPM and takes two hands to hold. LOL) for about 10 minutes.
Made egg bread, banana bread, a couple of veggie pizzas for dinner, chocolate/coffee/hazelnut ice-cream and a shepherds pie (with buffalo instead of lamb and sweet potatoes on top). The shepherds pie is ready for tomorrow because I have to get back to my paperwork and it can just be warmed up to make it work for dinner. That way I do not have to worry about dinner at all tomorrow.
I've still got kefir to make up tonight and more yoghurt too ... guess I should get at it, eh? LOL
Have a fantabulous day tomorrow! (((hugs)))

A happy Saturday to all!
Marian, how is the new place going? I hope you and Quinn are settling in and enjoying the new locale. Hopefully this will be your last move for awhile.
Jannie, you sure do work hard. I often do my work at odd hours. I enjoy working early in the morning and after 4:00 p.m. The afternoon is my slow time. I am very busy this week closing the Church's books and making my year-end entries. Next is the budget.
It's warm and raining here in Toronto. Today's high is forecast at 13 degrees.
I am off to the movies this afternoon. There is plenty to choose from as the Oscar and Golden Globe nominations are out.
A special good morning to Claire and Sherry.
01-12-2013 12:55 PM
Good Afternoon (((Susan)))
Enjoy the movies today!
Well, the storm has come and gone ... it's still minus (-21) degrees with 82% humidity ... but the sun is shining again!
We did not get as much snow as predicted ... but enough that Paul is out with the snow blower doing the driveway and Josh is out with the shovel doing the walkways. Alex is still coming through the storm as it heads East towards the thunder bay area ... obviously, he's been held up by the weather a bit ... he should have been home later tonight, but he won't make it until late Sunday or early Monday according to his messages.
Did I mention that the new car is pretty cool? http://www.kia.ca/pages/showroom/overview.aspx?model=Soul It was the one on the lot ... so we got some extras that we never would have ordered ... seat warming? Holey Moley is that ever an indulgent option ... I have to admit that I have used and enjoyed it on the cold mornings though. LOL It's like driving a grown-up Mini!
Enjoy the day!
